Here is an obscure reality that we’d like to share with you:

Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. responded to a letter from a Visitation Sister back in 1963!

Sr. Clare Therese Brandon VHM who went back to God just two years ago in January 2011, was a remarkable religious. During the Civil Rights movement, being a cloistered nun, she could not support that cause by participating in any marches. But she expressed her support, apparently, by a letter (which we don’t have access to), which was answered by the Rev. King himself, which we do.

This touching incident was later written up in a public newspaper in Wheeling West Virginia.
