is how we should understand that sacred saying of Our Lord : * Be not solicitous for to-morrow ; it refers not so much to food and clothing as to spiritual exercises. For if you were asked : ” What will you do to-morrow ? ” you should answer : “I do not know ; to-day, I shall do such a thing, which is
commanded ; to-morrow, I do not know what I shall do, because I cannot tell what will be commanded.” He who acts in this way will never feel vexation or
anxiety, for where there is true indifference there
can be no trouble or sadness
