Sr-Marie-Bernaud-132x150Dear Honor Guards,

In this month dedicated to the Virgin Mary, our Founder invites us to live our hour of attendance as the example of “one who said ‘yes’ and started running to fulfill the Will of God!”

Goodwill

“I am the handmaid of the Lord, be it unto me according to thy will” (Lk 1:38)

The whole morality of the reasonable man lies in his will. If this option is inclined towards good, it brings with it all other movements of the soul. Conversely, if the will is perverted, all acts are infected. We can therefore understand how God  attaches great value to the good will of his creatures and how they should strive to maintain it  a in order to pay homage to their Creator.

The soul of one of good will seeking to please his God,  tends to him with all her strength, she is studying how to satisfy even the smallest things. However, goodwill is neither blissful nor languid. It is not to be confined in a soft and sterile attitude. On the contrary, it grows by effort, in the performance of duty, it will awaken and is ready to be translated into action as the Virgin Mary who after uniting with  God’s Will set off to help her cousin Elizabeth.

“It is not those who say Lord, Lord, ‘who will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father” (Matt. 7:21) Jesus said. We’ve been warned! Alas, often despite our good will,  we lack courage, “I do not do the good I want, and I do the evil I do not want to. “(Rom. 7.19). This is the fight,  but it is also a matter of victory over ourselves! Where to draw the strength? The  Source is the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the example of the Virgin Mary.  Our eternal salvation depends on it:  good and perfect will  allows us to populate heaven! Let us be one of them! (Sister Marie of the Sacred Heart Bernaud)
