Dear all,

May the Lord bless each of you (and those you treasure) during this new year full of Mercy.
For many, every day is a new challenge, Sister Marie of the Sacred Heart Bernaud gives her monthly council to give us the energy to lift us up Let us go forward in faith !

The struggle of the soldiers of Christ

Sr-Marie-Bernaud-132x150” If there is war and soldiers, there is a battlefield and enemies! We know, from original sin, we are dedicated to the daily struggle against ourselves! This struggle is the privilege of every one coming into the world, children and the old, the weak and the strong, the consecrated and layman alike To remain faithful to Christ, we must fight with energy and perseverance. The status quo is not possible. If the rower does not continue to struggle against the current, the boat drifts!

Barely awakened to reason, we feel suffering. Are we not already defeated if the Lord Jesus Christ had not been given to us?

The Apostle Paul advises us: “Take the equipment of God to fight … you will resist and stand up. Stand therefore, having the belt around his waist of truth, wearing the breastplate of righteousness, feet shod with zeal to proclaim the Gospel of Peace, and never leaving the shield of faith that will allow you to stop all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, that is to say the Word of God. “(Ephesians 6: 13-17). In fact, the Christian is a soldier, the Holy Church to which he belongs is militant, and we have to conquer a kingdom to receive the crown of victory!

Yes, we are true foot soldiers of Christ, every day, we must exert ourselves to the fight. Jesus experienced the perils for all of us, He is at our right that we will not be shaken. Moreover, we know often against which we must fight: an environment that puts to the test our patience, difficult characters to bear, our impetuous nature, etc.

Throughout this year, we can meet these challenges, so that we can offer some victories to the Lord, and we shall soon experience this Gospel truth: “To him who overcomes I will give of the hidden manna” (Rev 2: 17)”
