On January 22, 1605, St Francis de Sales, recovering from a series of illnesses, wrote to the Baroness de Chantal that he sent her a thousand blessings and that he would resume his regular correspondence with her as soon as he was able. At this time the Baroness was still with her family and would not become the foundress of the Visitation Order until 1610.
Of course she and Francis were to become saints! They were united in their mission to bring a new kind of religious community into being.
