VisitationSiste: See How Loving and Gracious God Has Been

On Sunday we will chat about the importance of considering the gifts of God.

Apr 15 2016, 3:34 PM

FromJudy (guest): See How Loving and Gracious God Has Been To YouConsiderations1. I have a body which is still active even given the handicaps of MS. I am grateful for this slight disability which keeps me mindful of my absolute dependence upon God. I have a roof over my head, a rather nice one, thanks to HUD which offers apartments at reduced rents for those who are unable to afford the usual rents. I have food on my table. While I am not wealthy, perhaps not even middle class any more, I do not live in abject poverty eithe

Apr 17 2016, 7:02 PM

FromJudy (guest): either. So many people in this world are living in tin huts or cardboard boxes, perhaps picking through garbage for food, having no clean drinking water or other sanitation. If I am tempted to be sad about my own status, I need only to consider the fate of the truly poor and I am immediately lifted up.2. While I am not a genius by any stretch of the imagination, I am intelligent and have been blessed with more than a decent education. With Masters’ Degrees in Religious Education and Counselor Education and

Apr 17 2016, 7:02 PM

FromJudy (guest): and a Certificate in Spiritual Direction, my mind has been greatly challenged over the years.3. The Lord has truly blessed me with marvelous spiritual gifts. Just knowing Him is a great gift, but participating in the life of the Church and the Sacramental gifts which He has left us, makes my truly rich. He has called me into an intimate relationship with Him and allowed me to learn how to pray so as to keep this relationship alive and healthy. What can I say about His goodness and mercy to me! For about 65

Apr 17 2016, 7:02 PM

FromJudy (guest): years, He has been forgiving my sins. “What return shall I make to the Lord for all He has given me!” I am blessed in having grown in the knowledge of God as ever so loving, unlike many of my peers who viewed God as punitive, a task master, and vengeful. I have only to look at the crucifix to know that God, in His Son, loves me more than I can begin to imagine.

7:21 PM

Lisa C: Fine, thank you. Today my Mother said to me, “You should have been a Nun.”

Apr 17 2016, 7:22 PM

Carol Ann: That’s what every one calls me too!

PM

SrSusan (guest): We can all recall gifts God has given us too!

Apr 17 2016, 7:26 PM

Lisa C: Being Catholic is a gift.

Apr 17 2016, 7:27 PM

Lisa C: We are God’s special people.

Apr 17 2016, 7:27 PM

Dawn L: Thank you to Judy for a deeper reflection, and her openness

Apr 17 2016, 7:27 PM

Lisa C: Everyone is special, but we get to help Him with His work for everyone.

Apr 17 2016, 7:28 PM

Carol Ann: Whenever I gET closed off from God, He sends a horse to open me up again

Apr 17 2016, 7:28 PM

SrSusan (guest): a horse?

PM

Michelle P Olivier: Yes, I feel truly blessed, especially working in an Assisted Living and I have residents who are younger than myself and have so many medical problems. God has blessed me with my faith – and I don’t take it for granted when I come across someone who has no belief in God.

Apr 17 2016, 7:28 PM

Lisa C: I am especially grateful for Catholic schools (Grammar, HS, and college)

Apr 17 2016, 7:28 PM

Dawn L: Carol Ann if I understand your meaning

Apr 17 2016, 7:29 PM

Lisa C: Grateful for my parents and sister

, 7:29 PM

Carol Ann: Yes, when I was younger, I had a horse and when I was doing my inner work I rode a couple of very special horses28 PM

Apr 17 2016, 7:29 PM

Carol Ann: Yes, when I was younger, I had a horse and when I was doing my inner work I rode a couple of very special horses

Apr 17 2016, 7:30 PM

Carol Ann: Dawn, I thought there’d be someone here who would

Apr 17 2016, 7:30 PM

SrSusan (guest): I always wanted to ride but never really learned. But I am grateful for all God gave me, esp here in the Monastery

Apr 17 2016, 7:30 PM

Lisa C: Grateful for Pope Benedict and Pope JP

Apr 17 2016, 7:30 PM

Dawn L: I am so grateful that Jesus loves me and has been like a patient loving Father

Apr 17 2016, 7:30 PM

Michelle P Olivier: Even when I have to get up to go to work and I would rather stay in bed – I think of those who can’t get themselves out of bed and don’t have the ability to drive anywhere.

17 2016, 7:31 PM

Lisa C: Grateful that Jesus gave us His Mother Even with a religious vocation. Some people say it is a sacrifice – but are we not just giving Him what He has given us

SrSusan (guest): from Judy: 1. “Give thanks to the Lord for His mercy endures forever.” I have so much for which to thank Him, physically, mentally and spiritually. His goodness overflows to me and calls me to greater love for Him. A relationship with Him is truly a treasure found buried in a field. Have I sold enough to purchase this field? Hardly! But He has given me this treasure freely and without cost. All He asks in return is my love and fidelity to Him.

Apr 17 2016, 7:35 PM

Dawn L: Beautiful reflection

Apr 17 2016, 7:36 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): Yes

Apr 17 2016, 7:36 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): Our love for HIM is not enough

16, 7:37 PM

SrSusan (guest): Yet with all our gratitude and blessings we can still veer away- esp in tough times so we always need to stay in His Hear6, 7:37 PM

SrSusan (guest): God has all the answers but we don’t

Apr 17 2016, 7:38 PM

Lisa C: Being in His Heart is the most awesome thing

Apr 17 2016, 7:38 PM

Carol Ann: It is as though those trials put a dark veil between us

Apr 17 2016, 7:38 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): To stay in His Heart, but how?

016, 7:38 PM

Lisa C: When Sister Margaret Mary told us we could be, I was so happy PM

Amy Cochran: I am amazed how thankless I can be sometimes. yes, we’ll talk, Sister

Apr 17 2016, 7:43 PM

Guest5406 (guest): Where else could we go Lord you have the Words of Eternal Life !

Apr 17 2016, 7:43 PM

SrSusan (guest): For me the return I need to make to the Lord is to do what He has given me to do and grow in it so I can be a better guide for others :45 PM

SrSusan (guest): Last quote from Judy: 4. My Lord, I promise to seek You more attentively, paying greater attention to Your promptings in my heart and Your directives in Your Word. I can strive to recognize Your actions coming through the observations and suggestions of others, especially my spiritual director. I will give myself more attentively to prayer and reflection on the Scriptures. 016, 7:46 PM

SrSusan (guest): Each of us is on a journey and in a diffwerent place yet all of us are committed to Jesus in powerful ways PM

Amy Cochran: yes, I think God has given us a special task, unique from all others, and we need to follow that task easier said than done PM

SrSusan (guest): Can we name the tasks we think we have been given or actually know is our mission

Lisa C: Mother, Doctor, maybe Nun

Apr 17 2016, 7:49 PM

Guest5406 (guest): A friend wrote me a quote this week . A soul blossoming every time you pray to The Lord !

Apr 17 2016, 7:49 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: I especially like this INTRO quote from Holy Father: “let your body be wholly the servant of God, Who has done so much for it” That helps me realize the real importance of the Incarnation – we are His body and soul.

Apr 17 2016, 7:49 PM

Carol Ann: I don’t know for sure yet

Apr 17 2016, 7:50 PM

Dawn L: Mother grandmother neighbor with charity towards others retired nurse but never really retired

Apr 17 2016, 7:50 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: not just thinking about my faith but acting on it – wherever He puts me

, 7:52 PM

Dawn L: A heart for missions and those suffering in the world

Apr 17 2016, 7:52 PM

SrSusan (guest): Jesus never tired, even when He was tired. I can;t say that about myself- but He renews strength

Apr 17 2016, 7:52 PM

Ruth (guest): Yes, I’ve been thinking about that, but did not have any specific time frame in mind.

M

Mary Roberta Viano: I was also glad for SFdS’s reminder of the importance of GRATITUDE. I think if we all felt that more deeply, we’d be so different with one another, don’t you think?

Apr 17 2016, 7:53 PM

Dawn L: As I can not go to these places physically, I am called then to pray

7:53 PM

Ruth (guest): And now I have my TKA rescheduled for May 26th, at Albany Medical 6, 7:53 PM

SrSusan (guest): GRATITUDE- would that help interpersonal friction, then you are saying?

1

Mary Roberta Viano: yes, it’s our Salesian optimism – looking with gratitude at our neighbor

Apr 17 2016, 7:54 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): Will pray for you Ryth

Apr 17 2016, 7:54 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): Ruth

Apr 17 2016, 7:55 PM

Carol Ann: I will pray Ruth. What is the dare?

Apr 17 2016, 7:55 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: oops, Ruth…I’m eventually headed toward that myself…keep hoping I can put it off!

Apr 17 2016, 7:55 PM

Guest4061 (guest): Yes, God be with you, Ruth. It seems a popular ailment.

Carol Ann: Would you say that gratitude and optimism go hand in hand?

Apr 17 2016, 7:57 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: Don’t you think so, Carol Ann? Thinking the best of people…being grateful for them

Apr 17 2016, 7:57 PM

Amy Cochran: i think it does, Carol. when i forget to get enough thanks, i get into my own problems too much. i forget how wonderfully God has provided for me

Mary Roberta Viano: It’s been so easy for me to do the opposite: see the worst and be pessimistic

Apr 17 2016, 7:58 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: and ungrateful!

Apr 17 2016, 7:58 PM

Carol Ann: Yes, it is like what Anne Frank said. Even in her circumstances, she still saw good in people

:58 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: It’s the half-empty vs. the half-full glass 6, 7:59 PM

Amy Cochran: how true, Sister PM

SrSusan (guest): I had a long conversation today about new members troubles and I agree that optimism and looking for the good in the other when one is annoyed is the way to go

Apr 17 2016, 8:01 PM

Ruth (guest): Yes, Lisa, that is the concern. And I ask a lot of questions. I want to meet my anesthesiologist, discuss the specific health issues.

Apr 17 2016, 8:02 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: That’s often the problem with new members wanting to immediately change everything according to their own standards.

Apr 17 2016, 8:02 PM

Amy Cochran: i think that is the way to go, Sister.

Apr 17 2016, 8:02 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: and that’s the same in any new relationship, I think – husband and wife, friends

Apr 17 2016, 8:02 PM

Lisa C: Yes, Mother, optimism is the only way to go. It is always possible for things to be worse than they are. I try to see things positively.

Apr 17 2016, 8:02 PM

Carol Ann: I know we should nit, but we older folk do some stuff by unconcious habit….

Apr 17 2016, 8:03 PM

Amy Cochran: i think it’s the enthusiasm that is hard to control

Apr 17 2016, 8:03 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): Changes might not always be good

Apr 17 2016, 8:03 PM

Dawn L: Ruth, yes, i think the most challening pts are nurses and doctors…!

Apr 17 2016, 8:03 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: That’s why I described in my letter requesting entrance to the community as the sisters’ “big-heartedness.”

Apr 17 2016, 8:03 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): Traditional habit could be the best

Apr 17 2016, 8:03 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: what, not why

:04 PM

Ruth (guest): I found that is true, Dawn.

Apr 17 2016, 8:04 PM

SrSusan (guest): I always see problems emanating from our woundedness- so Jesus the Divine Physician is our Healer

16, 8:05 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): Amen

Mary Roberta Viano: Our priest this morning talked about Our Lord’s wonderful patience with each of us in His role as the Good Shepherd – always encouraging the best in us.

Apr 17 2016, 8:05 PM

Ruth (guest): Amen! Sr. Susan. So important.

Apr 17 2016, 8:06 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): We are attracted because of what it is, be it the Catholic Faith, The Visitation …

Apr 17 2016, 8:06 PM

Carol Ann: I noticed this year that Christ is both shepherd of the sheep and the spotless lamb

Apr 17 2016, 8:07 PM

Amy Cochran: i like Good shepherd Sunday, but it gives me a lot to think about, like as I really willing to follow the directives of the spiritual director or do i want things my own way?

Apr 17 2016, 8:07 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): I ever shared with a group of sisters when they asked me about protestant way of preaching and theis faith

Apr 17 2016, 8:07 PM

Ruth (guest): I try, now, to be REALISTIC in my judgement WHEN I need to make judgements. Because Always thinking the best of others has resulted in some very, very bad outcomes.

Apr 17 2016, 8:07 PM

Ruth (guest): Maybe you can do that in the convent, but the world out here can be brutal.

Apr 17 2016, 8:07 PM

Dawn L: Yes, Sr Susan. Sometimes I think its a difficulty with the other person, then eventually see it is in myself

PM

Mary Roberta Viano: I grew up with pessimists, who called themselves realists, so it has been hard for me to be the opposite and not be seen as pollyanna-ish.

Apr 17 2016, 8:08 PM

Ruth (guest): Trouble is, I think I judge toooooo often now.

Apr 17 2016, 8:08 PM

Carol Ann: Ruth, we have to take into account their weaknesses as well as their strengths in humility. And still be grateful

Lisa C: Ruth, sometimes I think if you are honest you expect other people to be honest too, and when they are not it is easy to get hurt

Apr 17 2016, 8:09 PM

Guest4061 (guest): I can really relate to what you said Ruth. I tried so hard to see the “good” in a co-worker just yesterday, and was really let down.

Apr 17 2016, 8:09 PM

Amy Cochran: it’s amazing how quickly i can unconsciously make a declarative statement about someone and not even realizing how judgemental i am

Apr 17 2016, 8:09 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: When I call myself a realist, my younger son always begs to differ and tells me to stop being so negative!

Apr 17 2016, 8:10 PM

Amy Cochran: sister, in community, how often can or do you connect with your children?

Apr 17 2016, 8:10 PM

Carol Ann: Sometimes people live down to our expectations too

Apr 17 2016, 8:10 PM

Ruth (guest): Sr. Mary Roberta, that’

Apr 17 2016, 8:10 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: as often as I wish, Amy – by phone or email

Apr 17 2016, 8:10 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): Like we live down to our Lord’s expectation

Apr 17 2016, 8:11 PM

Amy Cochran: do you have hours of silence/

Apr 17 2016, 8:11 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: and, of course, they are free to visit and stay for a few days

Apr 17 2016, 8:11 PM

Ruth (guest): s what I used to do with my father. He would say, “That’s life.” And I would blame him for being pessimistic.

8:11 PM

Amy Cochran: how did they feel when you told them you were entering a monastery? 2016, 8:11 PM

Carol Ann: Jennifer, too true. But I think He is disappointed because he knows what we can really do 8:12 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: one of our dear sisters’ favorite saying is: “Such is life.”

Apr 17 2016, 8:12 PM

Amy Cochran: c’est la vie’

Apr 17 2016, 8:12 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: They said they actually expected it, Amy – strange. I guess they know me well!

Apr 17 2016, 8:12 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): No, HE is kind and patient. HIS loves endures forever.

Apr 17 2016, 8:13 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: so true, Carol Ann!

Apr 17 2016, 8:13 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): We have to learn to be like HIM

Apr 17 2016, 8:13 PM

Carol Ann: He never stops loving but He knows better than we do what we can do

Apr 17 2016, 8:14 PM

Ruth (guest): Jen, I pray that often, that he teach me to love as he loves. But it scares me, too.

Apr 17 2016, 8:14 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: That’s why I love reading the Narnia series – the amazing people the children become under Aslan’s influence in Narnia!

8:14 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): I try loving whoever that God gives me, I try to imitate our Lord. Pray for me

Apr 17 2016, 8:14 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: They are totally open to the Lion and want to please Him at all times.

Apr 17 2016, 8:15 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: Why don’t we want to do the same for/with Our Lord, I wonder?

Apr 17 2016, 8:15 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): Loves needs practice like anything else

Guest4061 (guest): I heard Sr. Susan speak of retreats. I was under the impression that you all had been on retreats here before and had met. I have interest in retreat also have e-mailed you, Sr. Susan about it. Any info that would be helpful?

Apr 17 2016, 8:16 PM

Ruth (guest): And, Jen, Christ loved onto death, death on the cross.

Apr 17 2016, 8:16 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): Pray to HIM and he will lead you to where your heart desire, if you desire to please HIM. He will help you

Apr 17 2016, 8:16 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: As SFdS says in the meditation: “Dwell on the detail of how Loving and Gracious God has been to you.”

Apr 17 2016, 8:17 PM

Amy Cochran: i know, my kids have accepted it, but it’s amazing how God allows you to see that they will still be ok. Even if we didn’t enter a monastery, our children are ours forever in our heart at any age

Apr 17 2016, 8:17 PM

Dawn L: Aslan,yes!

Apr 17 2016, 8:17 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): So that’s a good death, to love till death

Apr 17 2016, 8:17 PM

Ruth (guest): Even the desire is itself, His gift. For that I am SO GRATEFUL.

Apr 17 2016, 8:17 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: yes, love till death, meaning we’re focused outward toward others’ good until death

PM

SrSusan (guest): One can pray with the Sisters and you have a room in the retreat wing

Apr 17 2016, 8:20 PM

SrSusan (guest): It is peaceful and the Presence of God is profound

Apr 17 2016, 8:20 PM

Guest4061 (guest): I just LOVE praying the Liturgy of hours together. I love being on retreats – I never want to leave!!! I always feel like I truly belong in this life.

Apr 17 2016, 8:20 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): Yes, you have to go for the retreat to experience it yourself. It’s wonderful

Apr 17 2016, 8:21 PM

Amy Cochran: I’ve gotten so used to praying ie the hours by myself, community prayer aside from the mass is something new

Apr 17 2016, 8:21 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: I think retreats are all about focus – intense and continued time to focus on Our Lord.

Apr 17 2016, 8:21 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): To stay in the house of the Lord is a great blessing

2016, 8:22 PM

Lisa C: Jesus is alive in the community there

Apr 17 2016, 8:22 PM

Guest4061 (guest): I sometimes feel “alone” in the world. People think I’m a religious fanatic – they don’t understand the desire to be with God and have that intimacy.

PM

Ruth (guest): Guest 4061. We all sorta “know” one another just from chatting on this most Sunday evenings. For me it’s been over a year. And, I’ve e-mailed Sr. Susan — practically used her as a therapist, around the time my first knee replacement surgery was cancelled while I was on the gurney, already had been preped, surgeon hand signed my knee! In October of this year I got to spent a long weekend — Halloween! at the monastery. 23 PM

Carol Ann: Bruan, no they don’t. I rub people the wrong way a lot too

Apr 17 2016, 8:23 PM

Amy Cochran: it’s ok guest, I’m a fanatic, also

Apr 17 2016, 8:23 PM

SrSusan (guest): The chatters here are all spiritual people

Apr 17 2016, 8:23 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): I am thankful for the time Mother Susan spent on us. Thank you, Mother

:23 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: That’s why a monastery retreat is good: to see women and men whose lives are fully centered on and directed by Our Lord.

Apr 17 2016, 8:24 PM

SrSusan (guest): You are welcome- and all the Visitation Monastery’s take retreatants

Apr 17 2016, 8:24 PM

Guest4061 (guest): Boy is that me! I am sure a thorn in my co-workers sides! Thank you all.

16, 8:24 PM

Amy Cochran: when you want to be spiritual in a secular world, expect attacks 8:24 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: and I hope you continue to be that “thorn” for the Lord!

Apr 17 2016, 8:25 PM

Dawn L: The first time retreat must be quite experience, going from world to there. From listening here, it must also be different from living in much solitude

Apr 17 2016, 8:25 PM

Carol Ann: I think we have found another thing we all have in common

Apr 17 2016, 8:25 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): You might meet Jesus face to face when you are in retreat at the Monastery, isn’t it wonderful

Jennifer Koo (guest): Yes, our common is we are deeply loved by HIM

Apr 17 2016, 8:25 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: at least you’ll be able to listen to Him better during the time of a retreat

Apr 17 2016, 8:25 PM

Amy Cochran: ah, sister, it is very hard to be that thorn. i am feeling beat up tonight

Apr 17 2016, 8:25 PM

Lisa C: Somehow people who are spiritual find one another. I know when to talk to patients about God and when not to, and it just comes.

6, 8:26 PM

Carol Ann: What is happening Amy? 27 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): Pray for all of us to stay faithful in the love of God because after the last supper, even St Peter can fail, so do we

Apr 17 2016, 8:27 PM

Lisa C: I pray for help when I work. God works with me

Ruth (guest): Guest 4. . Even my parents used to complain that I was a “fanatic” — because from the time I was 13 years old I attended daily Mass — bicycling to church and home and the practically running to school — in the opposite direction — to be on time for orchestra, which practiced before the usual school day, every day.

Apr 17 2016, 8:27 PM

Amy Cochran: i round up catholics from this nursing home to mass every other week. Unfortunately the staff in the dementia unit decides WHO can go to mass…..none of them seem to realize the importance of the eucharist. there are a few people they just don’t want to let go

Apr 17 2016, 8:28 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: yes, Lisa, it’s those ejaculatory pleas for God’s help all day long that keeps Him close

PM

Amy Cochran: and of course, because i tell them that it’s the reception of Jesus and the being at the mass is something people never forget, i seem to elicit their ire

Apr 17 2016, 8:28 PM

Carol Ann: I wonder, Amy, would your priest go to them?

Apr 17 2016, 8:28 PM

Michelle P Olivier: Amy, I run a dementia unit – that is a violation of their rights

Apr 17 2016, 8:28 PM

Ruth (guest): Soi sorry, Amy. Are you still in Vermont? I think that’s where you said you lived.

Apr 17 2016, 8:28 PM

Lisa C: Yes, Sister, all day.

Apr 17 2016, 8:29 PM

Jennifer Koo (guest): Actually, mass is the center of our everydays life

Apr 17 2016, 8:29 PM

Lisa C: Amy, maybe a Eucharistic Minister could go to them?

Apr 17 2016, 8:29 PM

Amy Cochran: i know it is but i was told by a priest to try to work it out One women was told she could not go because there was an incident with her the previous week. she loves the mass and she was so sad

Apr 17 2016, 8:29 PM

Michelle P Olivier: they have the right to attend Mass

Apr 17 2016, 8:29 PM

Amy Cochran: we don’t have Eucharistic ministers

0 PM

Lisa C: Amy, could you become one?

Apr 17 2016, 8:30 PM

Michelle P Olivier: then they are obligated to send a staff member with her so she can attend….trust me on this

Apr 17 2016, 8:30 PM

Amy Cochran: i was so sad i like this little lady and even if she could remember what she did a week ago it is no reason to deny her the mass

Apr 17 2016, 8:30 PM

Mary Roberta Viano: As SFdS asks, let’s “resolve to be constant in prayer, seeking the sacraments, hearing God’s Word, and obeying His inspirations and counsels” this week. Prayers for all!

16, 8:30 PM

Amy Cochran: we don’t have them in my parish PM

Lisa C: Sr. Susan is Mass at 7 tomorrow

Apr 17 2016, 8:31 PM

Carol Ann: We must pray for that staff–to keep people from Mass to punish them…my soul is shuddering

Apr 17 2016, 8:31 PM

Amy Cochran: i was told i was too happy when i entered the unit

Apr 17 2016, 8:31 PM

Michelle P Olivier: She can’t be denied

Jennifer Koo (guest): May be your parish could start to train some and commission them

Apr 17 2016, 8:31 PM

Amy Cochran: i am heartbroken for them

Apr 17 2016, 8:31 PM

Michelle P Olivier: There should be a listing of resident rights on the unit….check it out.

8:32 PM

Amy Cochran: they don’t have their rights listed

6, 8:32 PM

Carol Ann: That’s a big red flag.

Apr 17 2016, 8:32 PM

Michelle P Olivier: They are obligated to meet their social, physical, mental and spiritual needs. If not it is neglect
