What is the real goal that everyone must pursue and achieve? A Question we sometimes ask on several occasions but the answer is an answer of Life or death for eternity!

If the question is fearsome for those who lack the light of faith, for us who live in the school of the Heart of Jesus, we can say with certainty that “God created us to know, love, serve Him  and thereby gain eternal happiness. “As defined by these key words this is the purpose of all existence and towards which we should strive.

We are not on earth by chance only to work, suffer and die! It is therefore futile to let it ensnare us and cling to temporal things of this world. Our real goal is to know God, to love and serve Him.Nothing is more basic and yet nothing is more sublime! If we think,  we see that very often what concerns us, excites us, motivates us are the honors, material goods and pleasures of life, occupations or the most prominent … such careers are the goals pursued by most of  us. But what will  follow when we who ended a career, after many efforts to get all this, we realize that the ultimate goal was not it?

This fundamental truth too is often forgotten today in a world turned in on itself, that this must be the focus of our daily concerns. Before starting a project, we ask if this will serve to our eternal life. During the day, consider if our occupations serve to make us love, know and serve Jesus. If the answer is no or only dubious realize  that God can not approve, reward or bless it. Implicitly all that is consistent with God’s law leads to true happiness and true purpose.

Let us remember, [especially in this month when we celebrate our deceased], God did not create us to seek our personal satisfaction, to be or do what we please; no, a thousand times no, the Lord offers us a much more advantageous purpose for us: He made us for HIM! from the creator, we must go back and share  with Him the inheritance of eternal happiness! Never forget :through the knowledge, love and service to the Lord  we will reach this ultimate goal! (Sr Marie of the  Sacre Coeur Bernaud)

Note: On the 20th, we will celebrate the Solemnity of Christ, King of the Universe and the closing of the Year of Mercy! That day, all the honor guards may benefit from the Plenary Indulgence to the requirements of the Church (desire not to live in voluntary commitment to a serious sin, confession in a reasonable time, Communion, pray for the Pope’s intentions, recite the Creed, etc.) … and trust with confidence in the unconditional love of Mercy!)
