Journées Françis de Sales 2017 – Program and registration

The 21st Journées François de Sales will be held from Wednesday 25 to Friday 27 January 2017, at the Novotel Atria in Annecy, France.

From Wednesday, January 25 at 7 pm until Friday, January 27 at 3 pm, the Federation of Catholic Media organized the Journées François de Sales, an annual meeting of Christian media and religious information journalists. After a particularly busy year, these days will be the opportunity to confront the points of view and to re-read the professional practices.

Theme:

“Religions make headlines”

The last few months have put religions at the heart of the news and concerns of French society. New frontiers of religious information are emerging, causing the general media to take an interest in these issues and the denominational media to position themselves. From information journalism to a press of conviction, how can the Catholic media situate itself when the Church is in the limelight? What is the influence of online information, social networks, information sites on editorial practices? By addressing a faithful public, the Christian media have an “ad intra” responsibility, while also having the concern to be heard by a large public that lacks references.

Based on a review of the editorial practices of the last months, do our media develop a specificity? How do they take into account their readership? How to accompany and / or channel the extreme sensitivities of readers / listeners / viewers? What place – possibly competitive – do general media occupy in today’s landscape?
