2018 – When Switzerland opens its coffers

May 1 to December 24, 2018

The treasures of the Visitation of Freiborg are exhibited for the first time, in a setting both modern and surprising.
The rich liturgical vestments are embellished with gold and silver embroidery cut in precious silks with many memories of this house founded in 1635 in a canton where artistic creations are influenced by France, Germany and Italy.
To better appreciate the specifics of Helvetian works, the museum exhibits alongside them splendid pieces from three sacristies of northern Italy adorned with floral and landscape decors
