After 25 years, the construction of the monastery of the Visitation of Santa María, in Río Cuarto, began. The diocesan bishop, Monsignor Adolfo Uriona FDP, celebrated a Mass on Saturday, January 20, on the premises where the first stage of construction began, located 500 meters from the Jesus Buen Pastor diocesan Seminary.

“After these 25 years we can, thanks to God, begin the construction work of the monastery itself. The proper means to live our contemplative and enclosed life and to be able to welcome all those who come to our house to ask for prayers, “said Mother Agnes de Jesus. The nuns, who are especially dedicated to altar work and making paintings, rosaries, among other things, currently live in two houses that were adapted to be a provisional monastery.

Likewise, the Mother Ines de Jesus indicated that for them it represents “a great joy” and that it is the fruit of great effort and the help of the people. “Empanadas, puddings, sweet bread and alfajores are sold to recover, little by little, some savings,” she explained and reiterated her thanks to the people who are collaborating.
