As a mere postulant, Sister Jeanne-Benigne Gojoz (1615-1692) was sent from the Visitation Monastery in Annecy, France, the first community, to be part of the founding of  the first Visitation Community in Italy, in Turin.

An outstanding spiritual favor that Sister Jeanne-Benigne received was to understand, supernaturally, what was being revealed to a younger Sister in France and what her mission would be: St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, to whom Jesus was revealing His Heart.

But Sister Jeanne-Benigne, a domestic Sister, was also favored by the grace of union of hearts.

One day she saw her own heart “between the hands of the divine uncreated Love who held her as in a rich vase.. I knew that the vase was the Heart of Jesus.” Jesus took her heart, but gave her His, that contained hers. Her heart was so small that she felt disturbed that it was so limited and incapable of loving much. But LOVE Himself comforted her saying,” My dove, I repair all your faults of love by My Love, your smallness by the love of the Heart of Jesus, your weaknesses by My all-powerful goodness. Finally, the Heart of Jesus and yours, Benigne, are united. “

May this specially favored Visitandine intercede for all who wish to grow closer to the Heart of Jesus!
