Sister Marie Angelique Millet VHM
Sister Marie Angelique Millet (1879-1944) born Charlotte, was Professed in the Visitation Monastery of Caen France, the very same community that St. Therese’s Sister Leonie was a member of and in fact, they were contemporaries!
Sr Marie Angelique was a victim of atonement, the recipient of private revelations from Our Lord Jesus.
She was born May 25, 1879 in Normandy France into a faithful Catholic family. Two of her siblings became nuns as well, one a Carmelite, the other a Benedictine.
Suffering was an integral part of her very start in life as her mother fell when Charlotte was still in the womb and she sustained an injury to her hip which left her with physical problems throughout her life.
At her first Holy Communiton Charlotte already felt called to the religious life, and she enetered the Visitation Monastery at 21 years of age, being Professed in 1902.
Her mystical experiences as a Visitandine Nun were written in a book published under the French title of: Dis et Ecris.
In this work, she describes scenes of agony alternating with wonderful views of Mercy unfolding in a Kingdom of Peace here on earth. These experiences were verified by her spiritual director of 25 years, Dom Vital Lehodey, Abbot Emeritus of the Trappists of Our Lady of Grace of Briquebec.
In vision every holy hour once a month Sr Marie-Angelique saw Jesus in his Agony and received confidences from the Sacred Heart.
Our Lord said to her: “it is the hour to awaken the world. The compassion of my heart quivers with pain and love. The world is a neighbor to my peace. I want to show my Heart and give my Love.”
Sister Marie Angelique prayed:
“O my sweet love, I pray, give us Thy Divine Love to love you!
Give us Thy love for Thy Father, Thy Mother, Thy Great St. Joseph,
Your love for Yourself. Give us Thy love for abjections, subjection
similar to Your Sweet Eucharist! Give us Your love for all virtue, all suffering, for Thy coming!”
Sister contracted pneumonia and died during World War 11, offering her life for the Reign of Peace.
