From Mother Mary de Sales Chappuis, VHM:

” Go before a crucifix to detest misuse of the graces of God which we have appropriated to ourselves and which we have used as if they were our own, because we have not sufficiently been unbent and enlivened.

I know well that we do not intend to make ourselves proprietors of the gifts of God, but we do it through ignorance, infidelity and infirmity.

After we have acknowleged this fault and asked pardon of God, we must take the resolution to act in future in the spirit of dependence, fidelity and affection.

In this way we shall spend Lent profitably in union with the Savior, and if the body does not suffer, being unable to endure mortification, at least the soul will be benefitted.”

REFLECTION:

What gifts of God do I have for which I will be especially thankful to Him during this Lent?
