The month of March has traditionally been dedicated to St. Joseph, throughout the universal Church.

And St. Joseph is also the special Patron of the Visitation Order. According to the Visitation Manual, “After the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Joseph should occupy the first place in our affections and confidence. This was the attraction of St Francis de Sales, (Founder of the Visitation Order), who took great delight in celebrating St Joseph’s feast and in preaching his virtues.”

We will include excerpts of his thoughts about St Joseph throughout this month.

St Francis de Sales wished “St Joseph to be the special patron of the Order of the Visitation and the particular protector of each monastery and of all entrusted to its care.”

We will also explore why, during this month of St. Joseph.

Prayer of the Church to St. Joseph:

Assist us, O Lord, we beseech You, by the merits of St Joseph, the spouse of Your most Holy Mother, that what our own power cannot obtain, may be given us by his intercession. We ask this through Christ Our Lord, who lives and reigns, world without end.  Amen.
