We discussed this article on Faith Love and Evangelization:

http://web1.desales.edu/assets/salesian/PDF/ATP-NewEvangelization.pdf

M: I was fascinated to learn from the article that the word “creed” comes two words: cor and do – heart and set.

Sister : Yes I never knew that

I also found the connection between love and faith interesting

Faith in the heart along with in the intellect

M: That Holy Father doesn’t believe in hitting people over the head with doctrine but, rather, loving them into the doctrine.

Sister : That faith is like falling in love!

I also liked the idea of reason and faith as affectionate sisters not squabbling ones

(guest): Good evening!

(guest): I’m in WV. Where is everyone else?

Sister : Brooklyn NY for me

M: DC for me

Sister : We were waiting for someone to show up and you did! Are you interested in the posted topic or would you like to chat about something else?

(guest): What is the posted topic

Sister : It was rather scholarly this time- faith and love- evangelization re St Francis de Sales

(guest): Oh, OK. Yes, I have a great interest in the topic

But not much expertise… haha

Sister : Maybe you’ve heard of the Oblate of St Francis de Sales, Fr Pocetto from De sales U; he wrote an article on this topic

M: I like how the author talks about the act of faith affirming our human dignity and worth. It’s not just a list of things we believe.

(guest): I love the motto “Live Jesus.” That is what attracted me most

So simple and yet so true

M: Yes, living Christ’s way of loving and affirming everyone He met

(guest): Yes

Sister : Our challenge is to do the same!

(guest): I have not read the article but agree with what you say

M: It’s like today’s Trinity Sunday, where each Person of the Trinity gives Himself fully and totally to the Other.

(guest): The readings were very appealing today

M: We are called to give until there’s nothing left to give, Father told us this morning at Mass.

(guest): Yes, this is what I want to do… give until there is nothing left to give

Sister : We had a great homily. Fr tried to explain the inner life of the Trinity- that life of dynamic love

(guest): I always picture myself prostrate in front of Him

M: When you meet someone that open and giving, it’s SO attractive and appealing!

Yes, you just want to fall prostrate before that kind of Goodness, before God
