“Cordiality is the outward expression of one’s deepest commitment to do all in one’s power- even if that involves suffering and pain- to insure the spiritual, material and human well-being of the one who is embraced. The brief, warm and very tender embrace between Mary and Elizabeth is only the first moment of the mystery of the Visitation. That mystery translated itself into months of very hard work and countless concrete acts of kindness and care, patience and love.”(Father Lewis S. Fiorelli, O.S.F.S. Homily, July 2013)

And that true cordiality was lived out with great joy during the meeting of the First and Second Federations of Visitation Nuns July 17-22 when Superiors and Councillors met at the Visitation Monastery of Mobile, Alabama for several days, re-uniting our hearts as one.

Along with business matters, we developed a beautiful prayer service emphasizing our unity as Visitandines.

As the eleven Monasteries of the Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary in the United States continue to collaborate, we hope that the special spirit of “living Jesus” fostered by St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane de Chantal, may permeate the faithful in our country, placing each one tenderly in the most Sacred Heart of Jesus.
