Thursday, July 2 is marked as the day that the beatification process opened for Leonie Martin, a Visitation Nun who died in 1941 at the age of 78 and sibling of the Carmelite Saint Therese of Lisieux.
Bishop Boulanger of Bayeux and Lisieux opened the beatification process while Father Sangalli, postulator of the cause, will oversee all the procedures of beatification.
The tribunal constituted for this occasion will investigate Leonie’s life and determine if she has “been raised to a high degree in the exercise of Christian virtues.”
This work is expected to last between one and two years.
