The Basilica of the Visitation is located on the hill overlooking the lake and the city It is surrounded by the present monastery that also houses a museum and the shrines of St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane de Chantal, founder of the Order of the Visitation.
Built between 1922 and 1930, the Basilica of the Visitation is the chapel of the monastery of the Visitation and the place where are kept the tombs of Francois de Sales (1567-1622) and Jane de Chantal (1572-1641), co-founders of the religious order. Since the early 1930s, the monumental tower of the Basilica of the Visitation is at the side of the Monastery of the Visitation
