bkOn Sunday we will chat about our life in a monastery.
St. Francis de Sales saw a need for a women’s religious community that did not have the demands for austerity, as did the other communities. So he, along with St. Jane Frances de Chantal, founded the Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary.

With the vision of an entrepreneur, St. Francis put together a new community for those women who were not as strong physically, or who were older, or who were in special situations, such as are widows.
NET TV, the diocesan  television station, has graciously put together a video of interviews with our Sisters in the Brooklyn community. The result is a touching look inside the hearts of our Sisters that aren’t often seen outside our walls.
One person who watched the video said,
Such a beautiful profession of (all the sisters) of deeper faith, living as a sister, in a community. How blessed you all are! Your joy radiates outward in a peaceful gentle way. I feel happy, joyful, for all of you, just to listen and watch.
In our Living Jesus Chat Room this Sunday, we’ll talk about how this video struck each us. Here are some questions to ponder.
  1. Were you surprised at the testimonials given by the Sisters in any way?
  2. Are the lives of the Sisters similar to a family?
  3. It’s sometimes heard that such Sisters have simply shut themselves off from the world. Do their lives affect society in any way?
  4. Has the video inspired you in any way?
