In February, the Virgin Mary shows us the path of obedience and humility. She who bore God in her virginal womb is not less subject to Him. Every second, she is fully surrendered to the Will of God! Let every moment of our lives be given to God in the joy of a perfect imitation of the Virgin Mary. Forward step by step with the Mother of Jesus is a sure way to live our Lent!
Sanctify the present moment
The past is no longer ours, the future does not belong to us ,the present moment is in our possession. It is a real treasure! Let us hasten to exploit it because it leads to eternal happiness, of an infinite weight of glory, a more or less considerable increase in our heritage of heaven as we have been more or less able to sanctify these successive moments of time available to us by Providence.
Alas, we often scatter our energy . Our will passes from one object to another, we have the adventure, we wander, … and time passes … Like a thief, he delights to steal our treasure!
It is up to us to come back to “hotel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus” and sanctify the present moment. “Abide in me, and I in you.” (John 15.4). Indeed, God is there, really present in each of these fractions of time that make up our existence. He is there in the form of joys, trials, duties, responsibilities … brought every moment. The soul of faith, attentive and recollected, humble, recognizes the appearances: “It is the Lord! ” She adores, welcomes Him with love. She puts all her care, all her energy, all her heart into this precious moment by turning it into merits and glory for eternity.
Instead, the futile soul takes care of everything except the essential: her responsibility to the present moment. In the evening, she has sown as dust and boredom.
For us honor guards, admitted to live intimately with the Lord Jesus, let us be attentive to be present and in contact with his gentle Heart, let us not be distracted by turmoil, let us resolve to focus our attention, our efforts, all our energies on the present moment to sanctify it and make it grow to eternal life.
