Guest8764 (guest): Dawn ) hi Carol Ann

Dawn L: have you worked with questions tonight? also thought 1 was a challenge. Judy is so helpful sending her reflections in

Dawn L: Hi Jennifer, Hi Ruth
Oct 23 2016, 7:30 PM
Carol Ann: I have thought on them hard, but did not write anything down
Oct 23 2016, 7:30 PM
Jennifer Koo: Hi, Dawn, Carol and Ruth
Oct 23 2016, 7:31 PM
Jennifer Koo: This morning, I will be going to the hospital to send communion.
Oct 23 2016, 7:32 PM
Carol Ann: That is such a beatiful act, and it means so much to the people
Sr. Susan Marie,  I hope this helps. Copied and pasted from my Notepad.

Ruth (guest): Hi Carol Ann, Jennifer, and Dawn. Are you still here Dawn? MY list on the right does not show your name, and yet you are able to write . . .

Oct 23 2016, 7:42 PM

Carol Ann: On a word document? IT would have to be saved before the responses roll away
Oct 23 2016, 7:42 PM
Ruth (guest): Oh, Dawn, I’ve read some “saved” chats; they’re in the archives. But maybe that is a step Sr. Susan takes AFTER saving — possibly deleting anything TOO personal — and then posting there.

Dawn L: He writes….”we pretend to fly and hide ourselves, in order to be followed and searched after.” wow

Oct 23 2016, 7:57 PM
Carol Ann: That sounds like me!
Oct 23 2016, 7:57 PM
Dawn L: I think me too !
Oct 23 2016, 7:57 PM
Ruth (guest): Judy, if you read this later, know that I — and I think WE will be praying for you — and the doctors. I thought you had a definitive diagnosis of MS. Maybe it is something far less serious. There was a time — around 1972 or 73 — when a doctor told me I had MS. You wouldn’t know it to see what I’ve done in the interim. And MRI results gave no evidence of MS — a couple of vascular brain tumors, but that’s another long story . . .never operated. I was supposed to be dead by 39 — 33 years ago! Of cou
Oct 23 2016, 7:58 PM
Ruth (guest): Of course they didn’t have MRI back then, but they had CT and some functional brain scans.
Oct 23 2016, 7:59 PM
Ruth (guest): Point is God’s in charge, not the doctors.

Carol Ann: Yes, and He can heal when He chooses or help us to bear what we need to bear
Oct 23 2016, 8:00 PM
Dawn L: so true Ruth. I pray Judy is resting in Him thru this…it can be frightening to hear dx that are or are not correct
Oct 23 2016, 8:00 PM
Ruth (guest): For many, many years I was afraid to share this with any but my closest friends and physicians. Afraid they’d see me as “defective” or pity me instead of taking me seriously.
Oct 23 2016, 8:01 PM
Ruth (guest): But now, like you say, Carol Ann, I feel BLESSED that I am still alive and still pretty much functioning normally — that in spite of a LOT of head trauma, too.
Oct 23 2016, 8:03 PM
Carol Ann: Even though our lives seem so ordinary to us, they are not ordinary to Him, but precious work of His own heart
Oct 23 2016, 8:04 PM
Guest4167 (guest): Hello sisters
Oct 23 2016, 8:05 PM
Ruth (guest): So I talk about it more readily. Maybe it contributed, indirectly, and only minimally, I suspect, to my losing my last job — that I was so open with at least two staff members. But I think I am gaining in TRUST that God really is lovingly IN CHARGE. That everything that happens to us can turn to His greater glory and our salvation. You are right Carol Ann.
Oct 23 2016, 8:07 PM
Dawn L: I believe we are better off to speak truth than to conform to untruths…because He will be with us and my experience, turns things to His glory
Oct 23 2016, 8:08 PM
Ruth (guest): Question 1: I think we often see pusillanimity in some people. Ordinarily we would probably call it something like, “fishing for a compliment” — that is, saying something negative about ourselves in the hope or expectation that someone else will say it is not true and instead compliment us.

Dawn L: If we are obedient to his word and commands
Oct 23 2016, 8:10 PM
Carol Ann: That is false pride when you do it on purpose (some may actually believe the negative thing). It can backfire though, because if you keep insisting on the negative, people will eventually tell you, “as you wush”!
Oct 23 2016, 8:10 PM
Ruth (guest): Yes, Dawn. I just got this copied and pasted onto my Notepad.
Oct 23 2016, 8:12 PM
Dawn L: I have admitted to a negative trait outloud I do not think for anyone to convince me otherwise, rather it may be true. I think now I need to examine this more deeply!
Oct 23 2016, 8:13 PM
Dawn L: maybe in silence as Judy points out…
Oct 23 2016, 8:13 PM
Ruth (guest): That can happen Carol. SFdS interestingly points out conventional speech of his time — flowery, perhaps, that is an exception; he wishes that the language would more precisely represent what is (truth) rather than convention, but allows this (then) conventional speech as an exception.
Oct 23 2016, 8:14 PM
Carol Ann: Dawn, I feel what you have done is humility in the true sense. Some times a person sees themself in a negative way when no one else does
Oct 23 2016, 8:19 PM
Dawn L: yes, perhaps thru conversion- we are given the grace to see more clearly, not only our past but how those parts of us resurface now in certain situations. how can we see unless we take out the logs in our eyes. now I see how much love and mercy he has for us. so I do not feel beaten up, rather like the Holy Spirit lovingly holds us while we go thru this
Oct 23 2016, 8:20 PM
Ruth (guest): Humility is, I think, seeing ourselves, in relation to God and to other people, correctly, truly, honestly. That is why, for example, Mary’s “and future generations will call me blessed” (MAGNIFICAT) is Not pride, but true recognition of the blessing that he poured out upon her to become the mother of Jesus — even though it brought with it, too, many, many sorrows and pains. To HER credit, she said “YES! Be it done onto me according to your will.” And surely she just have known that this COULD have caus
Oct 23 2016, 8:22 PM
Ruth (guest): she MUST have known that this COULD have caused at least consternation to Joseph (which it did until his dream) and possibly even STONING to death for her. Those times were not like our own in the US where out

Ruth (guest): of wedlock pregnancies and births (or abortions!) are by much of the “culture” considered “normal” !”and “rights
Oct 23 2016, 8:24 PM
Carol Ann: Thinking about stoning, we do not literally stone someone to physical death. But what we do to each other in the media, or offline by gossip, is figurative stoning
Oct 23 2016, 8:26 PM
Ruth (guest): You are right, Carol Ann and Dawn, that in conversation with others, good, honest, genuine friends, our strengths and our weaknesses can become clearer. But we have to be at least somewhat careful about WHO we speak to when attempting to self-assess honestly.
Oct 23 2016, 8:27 PM
Ruth (guest): Generally, they should be people who share our values and are, themselves, pretty much “intact.”
Oct 23 2016, 8:28 PM
Carol Ann: Yes, true self revelation should be reserved for directors, advisors and the Anam cara, the soul friend
Oct 23 2016, 8:28 PM
Dawn L: Anam cara…does this mean soul friend?
Oct 23 2016, 8:28 PM
Ruth (guest): Otherwise we may come under attack. A friend can say things to us that someone who is “out to get us” might also say, but in a different, more loving way.
Oct 23 2016, 8:29 PM
Carol Ann: Yes, but also more than that. John O’Donahue has a wonderful book about that
Oct 23 2016, 8:29 PM
Ruth (guest): True, Carol Ann!
Oct 23 2016, 8:30 PM
Ruth (guest): Sometimes the “stones” are flung with feigned “helpfulness” which can make it even more painful.
Oct 23 2016, 8:31 PM
Dawn L: I will look it up. Today right now there is so much confusion in the world. and anger. even among the Baptised..and to each other no less!
Oct 23 2016, 8:31 PM
Ruth (guest): That is, the FRIEND says it more lovingly. Bad grammar in that sentence.
Oct 23 2016, 8:31 PM
Carol Ann: Those stones are the sharpest and cut the deepest
Oct 23 2016, 8:32 PM

Ruth (guest): Not only painful because it is said, but because it can cause us to doubt ourselves and lose confidence, which is, in fact, when based on truth, a consequence of and a gift of God’s working in us.
Oct 23 2016, 8:37 PM
Dawn L: is this not called purgation?
Oct 23 2016, 8:38 PM
Ruth (guest): Good observation, Carol Ann. I have that problem with a “leader” of a prayer group who thought that I and my whole family were under a curse, simply because “bad” things have happened to us.
Oct 23 2016, 8:39 PM
Carol Ann: If it causes us to lose confudence, it is not from God. GOD will purge us, and we will feel remorse and grief for ourcsins, but if it us from Him, we go forward confidently because He is with us
Oct 23 2016, 8:39 PM
Dawn L: oh no Ruth! yes these old superstitions. here is what I have started saying interiorly when among those who do this….”dont bite the bite!”
Oct 23 2016, 8:40 PM
Dawn L: I mean the bait
Oct 23 2016, 8:40 PM
Carol Ann: Ruth, is this leader of the charismatic bent? SCRC is always teaching on generational sin and spiritual warfare
Oct 23 2016, 8:42 PM
Dawn L: thank you! for sharing that Carol Ann, if it causes us to lose confidence it is not from God.
Oct 23 2016, 8:44 PM
Ruth (guest): Purgation only if we let it purify us in our faith in God and his mercy; “temptation” if we bite the bait and let the misdirected convince us that God is NOT with us (which can easily happen in a mood disorder,and/or especially when there IS a lot of suffering going on.”
Oct 23 2016, 8:44 PM
Carol Ann: Amen, Ruth, and it is very hard to overcome
Oct 23 2016, 8:46 PM
Dawn L: I am so grateful for you revealing these things and perhaps sharing an insight to what either of you have experienced.
Oct 23 2016, 8:49 PM
Carol Ann: When I first returned from the stay in the monastery, people were brutal. People who had claimed me as spiritual family disowned me because now I was nothing but a burden. They have laughed at my continued vocationjourney and whispered behind my back that I am deceived, and no Christian

Dawn L: to withstand others scurging which they believe they are doing for your benifit , to withstand and no matter what remember what God has placed in your heart, have faith believing in Him, praying for an increase of faith
Oct 23 2016, 8:50 PM
Carol Ann: Yet my journey continues, I am a novice, and my directors believe I am where I am supposed to be, doing what I sm supposed to be doing
Oct 23 2016, 8:51 PM
Carol Ann: I can only go where He sends me, even if I go alone.
Oct 23 2016, 8:51 PM
Ruth (guest): SCRC? Yes this guy is a lawyer — who has actually committed crimes against me — who sort of “inherited” a prayer group of about 30-40 people; it is now down to 3-4-5 people. He sees himself as charismatic. And I have studied about generational healing — McNutt (Francis and Judith) course. It did throw me a bit for a loop — the prayer group “leader’s” remarks. My notion is, however, that GOD’s LOVE and MERCY are more powerful than any supposed “curse.” Baptism, the Sacrament makes me a child of God,

Oct 23 2016, 9:19 PM

Oct 23 2016, 9:20 PM
Carol Ann: There you are
Oct 23 2016, 9:20 PM
Ruth (guest): Good night, from the private room, because I was there alone. Not sure where everyone is, since I still here all the clicks of your statements, but I do not see what is being written.
Oct 23 2016, 9:21 PM
Carol Ann: You wre? Jennifer and I were two, but everyone else disappeared
Oct 23 2016, 9:22 PM
Ruth (guest): That’s OK. Although I think Dawn left because of technical complications, too. Something seems to be not working correctly in the private room.
Oct 23 2016, 9:23 PM
Carol Ann: Whichever one you are in, I cannot find you
Oct 23 2016, 9:24 PM
Ruth (guest): I’m very tired, and we are no longer on the sharing that we were when I suggested getting together in a private room. Shall we call it a night, now after 2 hours? But I want to be sure that Brian is assured of prayers, too. He is such a good addition to our mostly-women’s group.
Oct 23 2016, 9:25 PM
Ruth (guest): He’ll probably check the archive. I do that, sometimes, when I miss a session.
Oct 23 2016, 9:25 PM
Carol Ann: Yes, we can go to sleep! I think it was me who shared too much and scared everyone
Oct 23 2016, 9:26 PM
Carol Ann: Well, I doubt Sr will post that bit at the end, especially if you didn’-t copy paste it
Oct 23 2016, 9:27 PM
Ruth (guest): You didn’t share too much Carol Ann, and I am not scared. No worry! It was helpful. I copied and pasted pretty nearly everything I saw, but I did not see a lot of what kept producing the clicks — perhaps the two of you in a private room different from the private room I was in?!
Oct 23 2016, 9:28 PM

Oct 23 2016, 9:31 PM

Ruth (guest): Good night, Carol Ann. Be well. If you keep on listening to the Lord “they” won’t be able to get under your skin — or steal your soul. Have you read “Screwtape Letters” by Lewis Carol? Fantasy, but shows good insight into the Enemy’s (Satan’s) workings. And of course Screwtape, the more experienced Devil, instructs the new one how to get his clients away from “The Enemy” (God/Christ).
