The saints are a testimony to Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 10:13, “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” How can we surrender in trust that God is only ever calling us through things He has given us sufficient grace to endure? For most of us, the challenges in life are small in comparison to the martyrs. What

Visitation (Guest): For most of us, the challenges in life are small in comparison to the martyrs. What kind of life do you think they led so that they were prepared to give up their lives on the day of sacrifice?
Who is your “favorite” or most inspirational saint?
What’s one trait common among all the saints that we should keep in mind as we make our way through this world?
Nov 3, 8:27 AM
Visitation (Guest): Sun Nov 5 at 730pm est
SrSusan (Guest): Surrendering in trust demands a real letting go
Nov 5, 7:27 PM
SrSusan (Guest): And placing confidence in God not oneself
Nov 5, 7:27 PM
Lisa C: Yes,and Blessed Mother
Nov 5, 7:27 PM
Lisa C: She prays us through things
Nov 5, 7:27 PM
Dawn (Guest): yes and yes
Nov 5, 7:27 PM
Judy (Guest): Hi Everyone!
Nov 5, 7:28 PM
Dawn (Guest): hi Judy’
Nov 5, 7:28 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Hi
Nov 5, 7:29 PM
Lisa C: If we are not tempted beyond our ability to resist, then it is very confusing how it seems that sin is not considered as absolute by Francis as it is by St JP and Pope Benedict.
Nov 5, 7:29 PM
Lisa C: It feels like Francis is saying that people cannot help sinning.
Nov 5, 7:29 PM
Judy (Guest): In order to surrender, we need simply to make our own an old adage, “Let go and let God. In not surrendering, we my very well be in the way of, blocking God
Nov 5, 7:29 PM
Lisa C: Hi Judy
Nov 5, 7:30 PM
Judy (Guest): s action in giving us sufficient grace to endure the trials we undergo.
Nov 5, 7:30 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Surrender does not mean giving over the parts we are responsible for
Nov 5, 7:30 PM
SrSusan (Guest): But putting them into Gods hands
Nov 5, 7:30 PM
Lisa C: We also have to remain active to some extend as faith without works is dead
Nov 5, 7:30 PM
Lisa C: 1 John I think
Nov 5, 7:30 PM
Lisa C: or James
Nov 5, 7:31 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Yes but we need to ask for the grace before each action
Nov 5, 7:31 PM
Lisa C: yes
Nov 5, 7:31 PM
SrSusan (Guest): That’s from our spiritual directory
Nov 5, 7:31 PM
Lisa C: It is James
Nov 5, 7:31 PM
SrSusan (Guest): So the grace is there but we need to be willing to accept it
Nov 5, 7:31 PM
Guest925 (Guest): Hi Lisa, Judy , Dawn , and Sr Susan ! God Bless You ! Brian🙏🏻
Nov 5, 7:31 PM
Dawn (Guest): I was thinking of what Judy wrote that by not surrendering we may very well be in way of, blocking God
Nov 5, 7:33 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Martyrs might be children as we have hears and tho their lives mite be innocent and grace filed they have not practiced the faith in trials that much
Nov 5, 7:33 PM
SrSusan (Guest): So grace must come there in trials regardless
Nov 5, 7:33 PM
Lisa C: Kind of like St. Paul before he got knocked off his horse. He thought he was helping God by persecuting Christians, but was not
Nov 5, 7:34 PM
SrSusan (Guest): I wish we could teach people how to surrender interiorly
Nov 5, 7:34 PM
Judy (Guest): I somehow think that surrendering should be somewhat easy for us who are seeking God with all our hearts. But I guess that we all want to be in control and that makes it hard for us to let go.
Nov 5, 7:35 PM
Lisa C: Mother, I think God does that by being hard on us
Nov 5, 7:35 PM
Lisa C: He makes us understand by going through suffering
Nov 5, 7:35 PM
SrSusan (Guest): People with low self esteem do not always feel they are in control but I don’t think they are any better in surrendering
Nov 5, 7:36 PM
Lisa C: It’s like some purification by fire
Nov 5, 7:36 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Daily life calls for surrender one to another does it not
Nov 5, 7:36 PM
Guest925 (Guest): Until we really know Jesus we do not really know what is right or wrong . That’s why it is Soo important not to be judgemental with those who do not know Jesus yet !
Nov 5, 7:36 PM
Judy (Guest): If we were like little children who willingly jump into the arms of their fathers without hesitating, because we trust that Daddy will catch us, then we would willingly surrender.
Nov 5, 7:37 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Both very true
Nov 5, 7:37 PM
Guest925 (Guest): Hi Judy !
Nov 5, 7:38 PM
SrSusan (Guest): A specific situation we have here is surrendering to a difficult future in terms of vocations
Nov 5, 7:38 PM
Dawn (Guest): I agree, daily life is full of situations where we make a choice
Nov 5, 7:39 PM
SrSusan (Guest): We need to trust God with that
Nov 5, 7:39 PM
SrSusan (Guest): We need to give up our wants in order to be primed to give up other things like our lives
Nov 5, 7:40 PM
Lisa C: They have very very great faith
Nov 5, 7:40 PM
Guest925 (Guest): God doesn’t call the equipped He equips the called !
Nov 5, 7:41 PM
SrSusan (Guest): That is a great thought
Nov 5, 7:41 PM
Dawn (Guest): Mother, I never thought of it this way or connected one to the other
Nov 5, 7:41 PM
Judy (Guest): I think that trust in God is the primary factor in our ability to surrender. We would not surrender to someone whom we do not trust, unless it is surrendering to someone who is taking us captive.
Nov 5, 7:41 PM
SrSusan (Guest): And trust comes from some experience of God do you think
Nov 5, 7:41 PM
Judy (Guest): I love that quote, Brian!
Nov 5, 7:42 PM
SrSusan (Guest): That makes a great prayer too Dear Lord equip me!
Nov 5, 7:42 PM
Judy (Guest): Yes. If we have not experienced
Nov 5, 7:43 PM
Judy (Guest): God and found Him trustworthy, then we will find it tough to surrender to Hom.
Nov 5, 7:43 PM
Judy (Guest): To Him.
Nov 5, 7:43 PM
Lisa C: God gives faith to those He wants to have it and knows they will accept His grace to do His will
Nov 5, 7:43 PM
Dawn (Guest): Brian, and this is where trust comes in I see…that he will give what is needed at the time.!
Nov 5, 7:44 PM
Guest925 (Guest): When we Trust God we are allowing Him to work ! He made everything why do we ever hold back our trust in Him ! With God all things are possible !
Nov 5, 7:44 PM
Ruth (Guest): Hi everyone. I just got in a few minutes ago, had a friend messaging me, and put some vegetables and pasta on the stove to go with left-over fish. Hungry!
Nov 5, 7:44 PM
Lisa C: Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Nov 5, 7:45 PM
SrSusan (Guest): how about the next question about martyrs
Nov 5, 7:46 PM
SrSusan (Guest): We all may be martyrs yet and there is always little martyrdoms in life how do weprepre
Nov 5, 7:46 PM
Lisa C: I thought we were on that question, when I said that they have very great faith
Nov 5, 7:46 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Oh yes I am mixing them up
Nov 5, 7:47 PM
Judy (Guest): I imagine that martyrs probably practiced much self-denial during their lives They fasted, gave up pleasures of all kinds and spent themselves for the Lord, their martyrdom being the last step in offering themselves to God for salvation.
Nov 5, 7:47 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Are we up to the third then
Nov 5, 7:47 PM
Judy (Guest): I think that we are on the second.
Nov 5, 7:47 PM
SrSusan (Guest): What about Christians in the Mid East right now
Nov 5, 7:48 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Some might not be as ready
Nov 5, 7:49 PM
Dawn (Guest): or some could receive a sudden grace… at the moment
Nov 5, 7:49 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Sudden grace that is an interesting phrase
Nov 5, 7:49 PM
Judy (Guest): Those living in the Middle East are probably aware that they might be martyrs at any time and need to be preparing themselves for such an eventuality by assiduous prayer.
Nov 5, 7:49 PM
Lisa C: All sacrifices go toward the salvation of the Church in cooperation with Jesus’ sacrifice
Nov 5, 7:50 PM
Carol Ann: as much as we strive to pray that faithfully, are any of us really praying enough to be prepared for that
Nov 5, 7:50 PM
SrSusan (Guest): That is precisely where grace comes in
Nov 5, 7:50 PM
Dawn (Guest): there is probably a better expression but I meant….. sudden where the Holy Spirt decends quickly
Nov 5, 7:51 PM
SrSusan (Guest): I liked it it is creative
Nov 5, 7:51 PM
SrSusan (Guest): And God has perfect timing
Nov 5, 7:52 PM
Judy (Guest): Probably no one can pray enough to be prepared for such a thing so the grace of the Spirit is needed at that time. And, He will not fail to give the grace.
Nov 5, 7:52 PM
Dawn (Guest): yes. I believe he is right there when this is happening
Nov 5, 7:52 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Our Ita Ford was a martyr not yet declared Shen eat to our school her
Nov 5, 7:52 PM
SrSusan (Guest): She went to our school
Nov 5, 7:53 PM
SrSusan (Guest): She knew she was facing possibility of death
Nov 5, 7:53 PM
Guest925 (Guest): God is always reaching out to everyone ! Those who have given their lives for Jesus have opened the door for many many to come to Jesus !
Nov 5, 7:53 PM
Lisa C: When Mother
Nov 5, 7:53 PM
SrSusan (Guest): 1980
Nov 5, 7:53 PM
SrSusan (Guest): She died in q1980
Nov 5, 7:54 PM
Lisa C: When was she born
Nov 5, 7:54 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Went to school in the. 1950’s
Nov 5, 7:54 PM
SrSusan (Guest): 1940 she was born
Nov 5, 7:54 PM
Lisa C: How did she die
Nov 5, 7:54 PM
SrSusan (Guest): One of the 4 martyrs of el salvador
Nov 5, 7:55 PM
SrSusan (Guest): With 3 others
Nov 5, 7:55 PM
Dawn (Guest): they were on a mission?
Nov 5, 7:55 PM
Judy (Guest): I remember when that happened. Everyone was absolutely horrified.
Nov 5, 7:55 PM
Carol Ann: With Jean Donovan from Ireland?
Nov 5, 7:55 PM
SrSusan (Guest): They were maryknollers and one a lay woman Jean Donovan
Nov 5, 7:56 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Yes and Ita was our graduate
Nov 5, 7:56 PM
Lisa C: Brooklyn?
Nov 5, 7:56 PM
SrSusan (Guest): her uncle was Bishop Ford
Nov 5, 7:56 PM
Lisa C: Oh my
Nov 5, 7:56 PM
SrSusan (Guest): yes our Brooklyn school
Nov 5, 7:57 PM
Carol Ann: I remember they made a movie about Jean Donovan but did not really explore the stories of the three Maryknollers. Bishop Romero was also martyred about the same time
Nov 5, 7:57 PM
SrSusan (Guest): That is right Melissa Gilbert played Jean Donovan
Nov 5, 7:58 PM
SrSusan (Guest): So what saints have inspired us all lately
Nov 5, 7:59 PM
Lisa C: So many Saints hard to pick, but Blessed Mother and St. John
Nov 5, 8:00 PM
Lisa C: St. John did not abandon Jesus when he was dying
Nov 5, 8:00 PM
Dawn (Guest): I thought he was next to Mary
Nov 5, 8:00 PM
Lisa C: St. John was given Blessed Mother by Jesus and he was the decibel that Jesus loved
Nov 5, 8:00 PM
SrSusan (Guest): The only apostle who stayed
Nov 5, 8:01 PM
Carol Ann: St Maximilian Kolbe, St. John Paul II
Nov 5, 8:01 PM
Lisa C: St. John wrote the Gospel all about love which is the trait common to all the Saints
Nov 5, 8:01 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Mother St Theresa of Calcutta
Nov 5, 8:02 PM
Lisa C: *deciple
Nov 5, 8:02 PM
Dawn (Guest): St JP II ….and both Teresa Avila and Therese
Nov 5, 8:02 PM
Lisa C: I think I am still not spelling it right
Nov 5, 8:02 PM
SrSusan (Guest): The gifts of the Holy Spirit are in all saints to help them live heroic virtue
Nov 5, 8:03 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Have you met a living saint
Nov 5, 8:03 PM
Lisa C: Yes, Sr. Margaret Mary
Nov 5, 8:03 PM
Lisa C: I bet she taught Ita Ford
Nov 5, 8:03 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Youbare right
Nov 5, 8:03 PM
Lisa C: Do you know how many girls she taught about Jesus
Nov 5, 8:04 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Hundreds
Nov 5, 8:04 PM
Carol Ann: Did you hear that Black Elk’s case is being considered? I did not know that he was also such a dedicated catechist
Nov 5, 8:04 PM
Judy (Guest): I never cease to be awed by St. Gertrude the Great and St. Gemma Galgani. Gertrude was a woman wholly in love with the Lord and He with her. Her “Herald of Divine Love” relates His revelations to her and details their relationship. St. Gemma was, by the age of 5, already deeply devoted to Jesus because of the training of her holy mother who died when she was quite. Gemma was given the stigmata. She was tormented by Satan, even been thrown against a wall by him. She wanted to become a sister, but her health
Nov 5, 8:04 PM
Guest925 (Guest): St Patrick and Saint Perpetua
Nov 5, 8:05 PM
Judy (Guest): caused her to be rejected by every congregation she tried. She was particularly attached to the Passionists and wore their emblem on her jacket. She died at the age of 24.
Nov 5, 8:05 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Like St Therese
Nov 5, 8:05 PM
SrSusan (Guest): St Katerina Tekakwitha
Nov 5, 8:05 PM
SrSusan (Guest): kateri
Nov 5, 8:06 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Did you hear Black Elk, Lakota, is up for the road to sainthood
Nov 5, 8:06 PM
Lisa C: Sr. Anne Marie used to tall us about St. KT
Nov 5, 8:06 PM
Carol Ann: I did, and it is so amazing. I had no idea he was such a dedicated catechist
Nov 5, 8:06 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Neither did I
Nov 5, 8:07 PM
Judy (Guest): My mother had great devotion to St. Kateri. She always felt great sympathy for the Native Americans feeling that they were really taken advantage of by the settler.s.
Nov 5, 8:07 PM
Dawn (Guest): Pope Francis didn’t he just canonize 35? one could make it a life study of the Saints!
Nov 5, 8:08 PM
Judy (Guest): Pope Francis is going to beatify Fr. Solanus Casey on November 18th. I read his life story. What a humble man!!!
Nov 5, 8:09 PM
Dawn (Guest): Judy where is he from?
Nov 5, 8:09 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Another amazing one Fr Groeschel knew Frr Solanus
Nov 5, 8:10 PM
Lisa C: I met Fr G
Nov 5, 8:11 PM
Judy (Guest): I am not sure–maybe Wisconsin or somewhere in the Midwest. I lived for several years in Sacred Heart parish in Yonkers, NY where Fr. Solanus served at Porter for a number of years. The people there really loved i=him.
Nov 5, 8:11 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Detroit I think
Nov 5, 8:12 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Frr G set up his house for boys in Greenpoint in my block Eagle St
Nov 5, 8:12 PM
SrSusan (Guest): I was 14 at the time
Nov 5, 8:13 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Did I tell you the story about Sr. Margaret Mary and the fleas on her funeral day I probably did
Nov 5, 8:13 PM
Lisa C: Yes
Nov 5, 8:13 PM
Carol Ann: Please tell us again
Nov 5, 8:14 PM
Dawn (Guest): please do…
Nov 5, 8:14 PM
SrSusan (Guest): My mom had fleas in her house and my sister was going to bomb it with some chemical I went to sr Margaret Mary in her coffin and asked her to take care of the fleas and she did
Nov 5, 8:15 PM
SrSusan (Guest): They did not need to do anything the fleas disappeared
Nov 5, 8:15 PM
Carol Ann: I love that story!
Nov 5, 8:15 PM
SrSusan (Guest): I hated to ask on her funeral day but…
Nov 5, 8:15 PM
SrSusan (Guest): She was asaint
Nov 5, 8:15 PM
SrSusan (Guest): She straightened herself out in the coffin said the undertaker
Nov 5, 8:16 PM
Lisa C: Like Padre Pio lost his wounds when he died
Nov 5, 8:16 PM
Dawn (Guest): sharing these experiences is so edifying
Nov 5, 8:16 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Yes
Nov 5, 8:16 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Did we cover all the questions
Nov 5, 8:16 PM
Dawn (Guest): did we #4?
Nov 5, 8:17 PM
Carol Ann: I don’t think so
Nov 5, 8:17 PM
SrSusan (Guest): No
Nov 5, 8:17 PM
Dawn (Guest): the one common trait , I believe first it would be a deep love of God
Nov 5, 8:17 PM
Judy (Guest): FR. Solanus came from Superior, Wisconsin and entered the Capuchins in Detroit, MI
Nov 5, 8:17 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Aha
Nov 5, 8:18 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Midwest
Nov 5, 8:18 PM
Guest925 (Guest): Soo so many who have set such a good example for to Love God with everything until the end !!!
Nov 5, 8:18 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Especially in our tense times just stick with God
Nov 5, 8:18 PM
Carol Ann: most also seemed to have a job that had something to do with the Church, whether they were a religious or not
Nov 5, 8:19 PM
Judy (Guest): One trait of all saints that we should keep in mind is that they kept their focus totally on the Lord (their minds and hearts always attuned to His will).
Nov 5, 8:19 PM
Dawn (Guest): never giving up hope never tiring just stay with God no matter what is going on around us
Nov 5, 8:19 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Love and compassion
Nov 5, 8:20 PM
SrSusan (Guest): A real relationship with the Lord
Nov 5, 8:20 PM
Judy (Guest): Wasn’t it St. Paul who referred to the saints as that “great cloud of witnesses?”
Nov 5, 8:21 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Might be I know the phrase not sure of it’s source
Nov 5, 8:21 PM
Carol Ann: it is one of the Epistles i think
Nov 5, 8:22 PM
Guest925 (Guest): When you go to church or you we at a meeting and you see all your friends and you know some of thegreat
Nov 5, 8:22 PM
Ruth (Guest): Heb 12 :1
Nov 5, 8:22 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Welcome back Ruth
Nov 5, 8:23 PM
Judy (Guest): Thank you, Ruth!
Nov 5, 8:23 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Thanks for the reference
Nov 5, 8:23 PM
Ruth (Guest): I’ve been watching, with a yummy bowl of fish soup on my lap.
Nov 5, 8:23 PM
Dawn (Guest): were you saying , or what were you saying Brian
Nov 5, 8:24 PM
Judy (Guest): I knew a Sister who taught in the elementary school I attended. I always thought that she was a saint. Whenever she talked about doing something, she would always say “Whatever He wants.” She was one of those people who exuded holiness.
Nov 5, 8:25 PM
Guest925 (Guest): Some of the great suffering they have been through ! Remember , I can do all things through Christ who Strengthens me ! Soo many have lived this life and are living this Truth !
Nov 5, 8:26 PM
SrSusan (Guest): That is it exuding holiness
Nov 5, 8:26 PM
Judy (Guest): That quote got me through my cancer treatments and the back surgery and recovery.
Nov 5, 8:27 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Which quote?
Nov 5, 8:27 PM
Judy (Guest): I still have a small brass plate inscribed with that quote on top of my file cabinet.
Nov 5, 8:27 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Whatever He wants?
Nov 5, 8:27 PM
Ruth (Guest): Powerful! Phil 14:3
Nov 5, 8:27 PM
Judy (Guest): “I can do all things in Him Who strengthens me.”
Nov 5, 8:27 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Ah
Nov 5, 8:28 PM
SrSusan (Guest): I need to learn that lesson
Nov 5, 8:28 PM
SrSusan (Guest): When it comes to things I really feel inadequate in
Nov 5, 8:28 PM
Carol Ann: me too
Nov 5, 8:28 PM
Ruth (Guest): How I wish that I could witness by my very being!
Nov 5, 8:29 PM
Guest925 (Guest): You Do Everyday Ruth !!!
Nov 5, 8:29 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Tomorrow I go into retreat for 8 days I will bepraying for you I mite yet stop in next Sun
Nov 5, 8:29 PM
Judy (Guest): I need to continue to learn that lesson, especially when I am feeling particularly weak physically, in my legs.
Nov 5, 8:29 PM
Ruth (Guest): If not inadequate I feel tooooooo s l o w about almost everything.
Nov 5, 8:29 PM
Lisa C: Have a wonderful retreat with Jesus
Nov 5, 8:29 PM
Carol Ann: Have a blessed retreat, Sr. I will pray for you
Nov 5, 8:29 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Thank you
Nov 5, 8:29 PM
Judy (Guest): Have a holy and profitable retreat Mother!
Nov 5, 8:30 PM
SrSusan (Guest): And thank the Lord with me that our discernment is bearing fruit
Nov 5, 8:30 PM
SrSusan (Guest): God bless!!
Nov 5, 8:30 PM
Carol Ann: Amen!
Nov 5, 8:30 PM
Lisa C: God be praised
Nov 5, 8:30 PM
Guest925 (Guest): I will be praying for you Sr Susan ! You are an inspiration to me ! Your Great Faith !!!
Nov 5, 8:30 PM
Ruth (Guest): Oh good! You mean the discernment of the Monastery with the Diocese?
Nov 5, 8:31 PM
Judy (Guest): Let us call on that “great cloud of witnesses” to intercede for us as we strive to become saints. Help us to “Let go and let God.”
Nov 5, 8:31 PM
Carol Ann: yes, and i know i need all the help i can get
Nov 5, 8:31 PM
Ruth (Guest): Me too, Carol Ann!
Nov 5, 8:32 PM
Carol Ann: out where i am the local “world” community is having a terrible struggle with charity in speech and it’s infecting all of us
Nov 5, 8:33 PM
Ruth (Guest): Have a wonderful retreat, Sr. Susan. Do you go some place other than your own monastery for the retreat? Is it individual, or the whole community?
Nov 5, 8:33 PM
Guest925 (Guest): Amen !!! I have had a couple of terrible nights this past month but God cleared everything up ! Just keep Trusting God no matter what !!!
Nov 5, 8:33 PM
Dawn (Guest): it is different living out here compared to midwest or east…..!
Nov 5, 8:34 PM
Ruth (Guest): Out here? Is that California?
Nov 5, 8:34 PM
Carol Ann: yes, i think Dawn and I share a state
Nov 5, 8:35 PM
Ruth (Guest): And Brian and I do, too.
Nov 5, 8:35 PM
Ruth (Guest): And Judy, are you in Vermont?
Nov 5, 8:36 PM
Guest925 (Guest): Keep Shining Everyone !!! God Love You All !!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
Nov 5, 8:36 PM
Carol Ann: God bless you, Brian
Nov 5, 8:36 PM
Dawn (Guest): Ah! thank you Brian, have good meets with the men. prayers
Nov 5, 8:36 PM
Ruth (Guest): Opps, she’s gone now.
Nov 5, 8:36 PM
Dawn (Guest): who is gone?
Nov 5, 8:36 PM
Ruth (Guest): Judy.
Nov 5, 8:37 PM
Ruth (Guest): Signed out.
Nov 5, 8:38 PM
Dawn (Guest): and Mother too. I pray her retreat is quiet and solitude with Jesus and Mary
Nov 5, 8:38 PM
Carol Ann: may we all find that solitude this week
Nov 5, 8:38 PM
Dawn (Guest): yes, Amen.
Nov 5, 8:41 PM
Dawn (Guest): I saw a man in the grocery line wearing his rosary around his neck today, a wood rosary. it was good to see he had his armor on… in plain sight.
Nov 5, 8:42 PM
Ruth (Guest): Hmmm. On all souls day I spent about four hours before the Blessed Sacrament. It did me good. Remembered to the Lord many, many deceased relatives and friends. Sometimes I look for balance — silence and solitude & singing, “dancing,” rejoicing in being with both the Lord AND other people.
Nov 5, 8:42 PM
Ruth (Guest): But “balance” is probably not the answer to much of anything. All the Saints were PASSIONATE . . .
Nov 5, 8:43 PM
Dawn (Guest): yes, in all those ways does the Spirit move
Nov 5, 8:44 PM
Dawn (Guest): oh, it was 1 cortin 14 I was reading this morning, about all the things you mentioned Ruth.
Nov 5, 8:45 PM
Ruth (Guest): Interesting Dawn. When I gave my grand niece a blue crystal rosary for her First Holy Communion, she immediately put it around her neck. Later she cried when she’d managed to accidentally twist it apart. It was easily fixed though.
Nov 5, 8:49 PM
Dawn (Guest): aww glad you could fix it. so…goodnight everyone, not sure who is here besides you Ruth. God bless everyone….see you all next week !
Nov 5, 8:49 PM
Ruth (Guest): I just looked up I Cor 14.
Nov 5, 8:49 PM
Ruth (Guest): Carol Ann.
Nov 5, 8:50 PM
SrSusan (Guest): Yes
Nov 5, 8:50 PM
Ruth (Guest): My apologies, that I was so late, and that . . .
Nov 5, 8:51 PM
Ruth (Guest): Sr. Susan, you are back?
Nov 5, 8:52 PM
Dawn (Guest): there was a reason I went to it…oh in Office of readings sermon by ST Charles
Nov 5, 8:53 PM
Dawn (Guest): he said : the prophet says I will pray and then I will understand
Nov 5, 8:54 PM
Dawn (Guest): it jumped out at me those words…this morning and led me to 1 Corin 14
Nov 5, 8:54 PM
Ruth (Guest): Ahh. Isn’t that true. How else can we know what God is asking of us — the particulars.
Nov 5, 8:55 PM
Ruth (Guest): Oh, maybe, sometimes, through dreams, too; like Joseph the spouse of Mary, foster father of Jesus.

Ruth (Guest): The other night I dreamt that I was supposed to deliver two units of blood to a certain place. I was rushing to get them there on time. Arrived just as the doors were being locked. But I persisted, and was let in, and delivered the blood to where it was needed. I thought I should write down that dream, to try to interpret it, but just got too busy . . .

Ruth (Guest): I’m still not clear what it means, if anything.

Ruth (Guest): Or whose blood it was, or if I even knew why it was needed.

Ruth (Guest): Miriam will be calling me again soon; I’d better put away the food. Have a good week Dawn. I have to check e-mail, too, AND get to bed at a reasonable hour so that I can get up early. A friend needs help with moving her sick husband back into their house, another wants to give me a piano, which would require my getting a mover and a tuner.

Ruth (Guest): Yes, Dawn. It felt right. And somehow realistic. Because no matter how I rush, the hurrieder I go the behinder I get!
