What does it mean to “
What does it mean to live with Christ?
We often talk about the death of Jesus Christ,
Sister (Guest): 730pm est June 17
Guest458 (Guest): Hi Sister Susan !
VisitationSiste: Glad to be back!
Dawn (Guest): Hi Sr Susan!
VisitationSiste: Hi Dawn!
VisitationSiste: 3 weeks away was the longest ever but our big events are over
VisitationSiste: How did it go these past weeks?
Dawn (Guest): Holy events,
Dawn (Guest): Well,
Dawn (Guest): But worthy to attend
VisitationSiste: But it helps to get to know one another so it is ok from time to time don’
Dawn (Guest): I do agree.
Dawn (Guest): It seems as tho many are on summer sabbatical,
VisitationSiste: Yes –
Dawn (Guest): Ruth had a retreat.
VisitationSiste: Hi Jane!
Dawn (Guest): Hi Jane,
Jane (Guest): Hi Have missed you all.
Jane (Guest): God bless you all
VisitationSiste: I was out too for 3 Sundays but should be stable now
Dawn (Guest): more things going on in summer for sure
VisitationSiste: and we are back to the Treatise which is a solid work
Dawn (Guest): ah,
Jane (Guest): h
Jane (Guest): This month of the Sacred Heart is so powerful for me.
Jane (Guest): Please excuse prior typo
VisitationSiste: Yes and we had a powerful novena for 9 days-
Jane (Guest): Is there a book you could recommend for a devotion to the Sacred Heart?
VisitationSiste: Yes one of the originals by Fr Croisset
Jane (Guest): I am reading the Sacred Heart of Jesus by St.
VisitationSiste: The Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus:
Jane (Guest): what do you mean –
VisitationSiste: St John Eudes is excellent-
VisitationSiste: I mean right after St Margaret Mary’
Jane (Guest): God put that book by St.
Jane (Guest): Is there a title to his book
VisitationSiste: Yes-
VisitationSiste: I think Tan Books puts it out
Jane (Guest): Just found it on Amazon.
VisitationSiste: Great!
VisitationSiste: Dawn,
VisitationSiste: Maybe it is just 3 of us tonight?
VisitationSiste: We can start whenever you want
Jane (Guest): The power of 3
VisitationSiste: What does it mean that we are given life by Christ’
Dawn (Guest): I have been busy doing that which Im called to do right now.
VisitationSiste: The Will of God is best,
Dawn (Guest): Thank you
Jane (Guest): God’
Jane (Guest): What more can one demonstrate his love but to sacrifce his life for those he loves-
Dawn (Guest): sacrificial love,
Jane (Guest): Zapping away sins would deny us the opportunity to purge our sins via a pure and willing heart full of yearning to rid the wrongs to be a disciple of Christ
Jane (Guest): Awesome summary Dawn
Dawn (Guest): and dying to our old self happens by grace as does living in him.
Dawn (Guest): I think everything is grace!
VisitationSiste: So beautiful-
Jane (Guest): Amen –
Dawn (Guest): yes Mother,
VisitationSiste: While God does not zap our sins,
VisitationSiste: of course with our sorrow and penance
VisitationSiste: So we cooperate with that “
Jane (Guest): I understood that the only time our sins are cleansed fully is at the Sunday Mass for the Divine Mercy
Dawn (Guest): imitating Christ,
Jane (Guest): Provide you have undertaken all the condition,
VisitationSiste: I did not know that
Dawn (Guest): I went ahead.
Jane (Guest): Pope John Paul put it in place and he died on the even of its effectuation
VisitationSiste: I knew the Feast but all the conditions I missed somew
Dawn (Guest): I recall something of complete Absolution on Divine Mercy Sunday also
VisitationSiste: So in a way,
What does it mean to live with Christ?
Dawn (Guest): but not all
Jane (Guest): Yes,
Dawn (Guest): do we die with Christ in our Baptism?
Jane (Guest): We are cleansed of original sin via baptism so our soul is united to God the Father,
VisitationSiste: I believe we then live with Christ or perhaps Christ lives in us,
Jane (Guest): Totally agree-
Dawn (Guest): as we become detached to the world,
VisitationSiste: That is why solitude is so special because we begin to “
Dawn (Guest): Solitude.
VisitationSiste: And when we do not allow Him in every movement of ours,
VisitationSiste: Yes I think so I remember one time I left the cloister to go to the post office,
VisitationSiste: Reading Scripture gives us many examples of How Jesus lived but His inner life is not always so detectable without much meditation,
Dawn (Guest): I will remember you telling that Mother.
Jane (Guest): So true that being out in the world surrounded by so many one feels alone but with God and not the people around us.
VisitationSiste: The Presence of Jesus is the Light!
Jane (Guest): The light of the world;
Dawn (Guest): I think.
VisitationSiste: Yes I agree
Dawn (Guest): when we see the light in others,
VisitationSiste: When we talk of the death of Christ,
Dawn (Guest): how monks and nuns help.
Dawn (Guest): Resurrection
VisitationSiste: Yes and I saw that light in a married laywoman and that’
Dawn (Guest): ah!
VisitationSiste: She is now a Daughter of St Francis de Sales
Dawn (Guest): Praise be to Jesus Christ
VisitationSiste: The Daughters are a very spiritual group of women They are international and one of the chapters meets at our Monastery every month
Jane (Guest): It is the prayer of the sister in the Liturgy of the Hours that is so special and powerful to us lay person.
Dawn (Guest): it is a lay group,
Jane (Guest): What a special group –
Jane (Guest): Is the group open to the parents of the students at VA?
VisitationSiste: Yes a lay group
VisitationSiste: It could be-
Jane (Guest): sounds amazing
Dawn (Guest): beautiful
Jane (Guest): Need to perpetuate it through the next generation and thereafter
VisitationSiste: It was begun in France in the 1800′
Jane (Guest): Can the students at VA start the 2 year formation in 7th grade so they return after graduation
Jane (Guest): Thank you so for the link
VisitationSiste: That I do not know Jane but I will ask my friend-
Dawn (Guest): Thank you !
Jane (Guest): Would be a beatiful program to send them out into the world as a disciple of Christ and for them to fall back on as their lives evolvee
VisitationSiste: They also have “
Jane (Guest): sorry for typo
VisitationSiste: Unfortunately our students need to live the basics of their Catholic faith-
VisitationSiste: The Sisters deeply encourage but the families are not all supportive so keep praying
VisitationSiste: It was a good 3 way discussion tonight and I hope to chat next week!
