Christians still fall into sin and vice, so what’s different? And now a question from St. Francis from this reflection: For what can

VisitationSiste: For what can it profit the soul to be ravished unto God by prayer, while in her life and conversation she is ravished by earthly, base and natural affections; to be above herself in prayer and below herself in life and operation, to be angelic in meditation and brutish in conversation?

Jun 10, 7:38 PM

Carol Ann: And these are hard questions

Jun 10, 7:38 PM

Dawn (Guest): PAX

Jun 10, 7:39 PM

Carol Ann: So, why is it that baptism is death and rebirth rather than starting over?

Jun 10, 7:40 PM

Carol Ann: Oh dear, it’s just us

Jun 10, 7:41 PM

Dawn (Guest): without studying for this, my thoughts are so much is supernatural and it is unexplainable in worldly terms. yes it is just us! not sure I would be able to keep up tonight...

Jun 10, 7:42 PM

Dawn (Guest): we could wait a few more minutes to see if anyone else come

Jun 10, 7:44 PM

Carol Ann: It seems like the death and rebirth accomplishes more than just starting over. We can start again without actually changing ourselves but baptism transforms us

Carol Ann: No, I don’t think either of them said they would be on leave

Jun 10, 7:46 PM

Jun 10, 7:52 PM

Dawn (Guest): having not read or watched, this paragraph is worthy for me of studying pondering...And now a question from St. Francis from this reflection: For what can it profit the soul to be ravished unto God by prayer, while in her life and conversation she is ravished by earthly, base and natural affections; to be above herself in prayer and below herself in life and operation, to be angelic in meditation and brutish in conversation?

Jun 10, 7:54 PM

Carol Ann: It is a disconnect between soul and mind and heart. Prayer is ecstatic but there is no inner transformation.

Jun 10, 7:54 PM

Dawn (Guest): out of context with the rest of the study . I will watch and read later. So, I hope you have an enoyable family day. thank you Carol for your insight!

Jun 10, 7:54 PM

Carol Ann: It sounds kind of harsh to me because we all struggle with sin and can demonstrate this disconnect all too well

Jun 10, 7:55 PM

Carol Ann: Yes, you are welcome. Do you want to wait on more until next week?

Jun 10, 7:56 PM

Dawn (Guest): I do. this cold is feeling worse as it gets later I expect to feel better in morning
