“There was at the table, leaning against Jesus, one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved” (Jn13, 23)

“Think that you are a little Saint John who has to sleep on the breast of Our Lord … So stay, dear Sister, like a little Saint John, and while the others eat various kinds of meat at the table of the Lord. Savior, rest and lean over your head, your love, and your mind on the loving breast of the dear Savior; for it is better to sleep on this sacred pillow than to watch in any other posture. (Ste Jeanne de Chantal, The little libretto: a collection made by her of the opinions received from St. Francis de Sales)

This is another attitude I am called to this week: that of trusting abandonment to Our Lord. I will try to find in my day, a time to rest thus on the breast of Jesus. And if my schedule forces me to walk, then this walk is done in confidence.
