O Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us. O Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.
The prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
“Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask
of my Father, he will give it to you in my name. John 16,23 With these words,
Jesus reveals the inner thoughts of his Heart, the needs that urge him to do us
good. Indeed, his graces are infinite, He invites us to draw from it
abundantly, and when we decide to make a request, He suffers that we do not ask
him more. Jesus places at our disposal an inexhaustible treasure where we can
take at will all that we lack. This treasure is his heart! He holds all the
merits of his life, all the graces He has acquired through his works and
sufferings, all the virtues He has practiced to an infinitely high degree, all
the gifts of the Holy Spirit of which He has been filled. And this immense
treasure belongs to all of us, to every soul that populates the world. Everything
lives, everything breathes and thrives in Him.
If he is alive, it is with his Heart, seat and
organ of his affections, symbol of the infinite charity that He has for us from
all eternity. If he intercedes with God the Father, if his blood shed on the
Cross ceaselessly cries pity, pardon and mercy, it is from the Heart that all
his acts of love come from, with their infinite merits.
Great as our miseries are, we will always find
with Him a remedy for all our ills. “Until now you have not asked for
anything on my behalf. Ask, and you will receive, so that your joy is perfect.
John 16,24
Let us approach this throne of graces and pray the
Sacred Heart with new fervor. Throughout this month, let us redouble our
prayers to the Sacred Heart of Jesus so that they will draw on us, and on all
the sinners who are dear to us, the bestowals of his Divine Mercy! (Sister
