Today, August 12th, is the Feast of the Foundress of the Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary, St. Jane de Chantal, who, with St. Francis de Sales, began the first Visitation Monastery in 1610.
We Visitandines honor St. Jane as our Holy Mother.
You too can invoke her intercession for your state of life as well. Prior to becoming a religious nun, St. Jane was a widow, with four children.
St Jane had a happy marriage with her husband Christophe, until he was shot in a hunting accident and died several days later from his injuries.
St. Jane de Chantal is the patroness of:
widows, parents separated from their children, forgotten people, death of parents and of in-law problems.
