VisitationSiste: Jesus is the greatest motive for animating our lives. How can we look at this to help us better understand the importance of Lent?
4. How can the death of Jesus give us hope amidst the tendency to despair?
5. How can the death of Jesus help us to love more authentically?
6. How can this essay help us cope with the current anxieties and sufferings of the coronavirus? How has this crisis affected your spiritual walk with Jesus? What can we do to help others at this time?

Carol Ann: I was afraid of that Brian. Are you able to at least call in.

Mar 22, 7:42 PM

Dawn (Guest): Tho I do not have a spiritual director really, the Holy Scriptures and writings of SFdS are this

Mar 22, 7:42 PM

VisitationSiste: Prisons under lockdown like hospitals- can’t visit nursing homes

Mar 22, 7:42 PM

VisitationSiste: SFDS was a great spiritual director

Mar 22, 7:43 PM

BRIANBUNNY5: No we cannot call in just have to keep praying for the Kairos Community local and around the World !!!

Mar 22, 7:44 PM

Carol Ann: Oh Brian, I am so sorry. It is such a critical time for them too

Mar 22, 7:45 PM

VisitationSiste: It’s terrible=

Mar 22, 7:45 PM

VisitationSiste: Italy is not giving respirator help to those over 60

Mar 22, 7:46 PM

BRIANBUNNY5: They are a Strong Christian Community ! They will help each other through this and we will help each other through this difficult time !!!

Mar 22, 7:46 PM

Carol Ann: I had not heard that. How terrible for the people and those that had to make that decision

Mar 22, 7:47 PM

VisitationSiste: We are all on the cross- the same cross!

Mar 22, 7:51 PM

BRIANBUNNY5: Amen Sister !!! We Must Trust God !!! We can do all Things through Christ who Stengthens Us !!!!

Mar 22, 7:53 PM

VisitationSiste: q2: 2. Saint Francis says, ultimately, that we have a choice between either eternal love or eternal death. Why do our day-to-day choices not always seem so black and white? How can we better factor this eternal reality into our daily choices?

Mar 22, 7:53 PM

Carol Ann: How many of us attended Mass via livestream on the internet? I wonder how many people who haven’t come before saw us and joined

Mar 22, 7:55 PM

VisitationSiste: Hi Ruth

Mar 22, 7:55 PM

Carol Ann: It seems to me so much in the world is gray, that the truth is between two points of view because neither human is totally right or totally wrong

Mar 22, 7:55 PM

Carol Ann: Hi Ruth!

Mar 22, 7:57 PM

BRIANBUNNY5: I think especially through these very stressful times we get tempted to retreat back to the bad choices it is soo important too filter our choices through Jesus !!! Without Him we can do nothing !!!

Mar 22, 7:58 PM

VisitationSiste: Right now obedience is called for butso many don’t see it that way

Mar 22, 7:59 PM

BRIANBUNNY5: Love Joy Peace Patience Kindness Goodness Self Control and Longsuffering

Mar 22, 8:00 PM

Carol Ann: Prayer and fasting

Mar 22, 8:01 PM

Dawn (Guest): Yes, obedience. many want to rebel

Mar 22, 8:01 PM

VisitationSiste: and lent is all about prayer and fasting, and helping others too so we all have the perfect Lent if we choose to see it that way

Mar 22, 8:02 PM

Dawn (Guest): it is a perfect Lent!

Mar 22, 8:03 PM

VisitationSiste: Hi Debra

Mar 22, 8:03 PM

Ruth (Guest): Families that were running in every which direction may come to know one another . . . It’s hard for some who are working from home for the first time and homeschooling for the first time, but we have to believe as SFdS says that what is, is either part of the active will, or the PERMISSIVE will of God.

Mar 22, 8:03 PM

VisitationSiste: q 3 3. Saint Francis says that the death and passion of Jesus is the greatest motive for animating our lives. How can we look at this to help us better understand the importance of Lent?\

Mar 22, 8:04 PM

Dawn (Guest): Hi Ruth. thank you

Mar 22, 8:04 PM

BRIANBUNNY5: In Spanish Flu 1918 the cities that isolated did much better . Philadelphia disobeyed advice through parade 200000 people 2600 people died in a week . San Francisco did well everyone wore masks . After second round of virus they gave up all good practices . 90 percent of their deaths came at end of virus . St Louis was obediant throughout they were able to cut of the curve like they talk about in News . Important Lessons for Now πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Mar 22, 8:05 PM

VisitationSiste: Thanks for this info Brian!

Mar 22, 8:05 PM

Carol Ann: We need to remember that Brian as the month of quarantine gets to be too, heavy

Mar 22, 8:07 PM

Dawn (Guest): yes, our brain is wired to begin over time second quessing the seriousness and

Mar 22, 8:07 PM

VisitationSiste: it could be a long time we are dealing with this

Mar 22, 8:08 PM

BRIANBUNNY5: Amen ! Temptation to ignore good advice , temptation to abandone good advice and practice , and the fruit of Obediance from good advice !!!

Mar 22, 8:08 PM

VisitationSiste: good summary!

Mar 22, 8:08 PM

Ruth (Guest): When faced with a pandemic at first every precaution seems excessive; later, every precaution seems inadequate.

Mar 22, 8:08 PM

Dawn (Guest): copying this Brian!

Mar 22, 8:08 PM

VisitationSiste: another good observation

Mar 22, 8:08 PM

VisitationSiste: has this crisis affected your spiritual walk with Jesus? What can we do to help others at this time?

Mar 22, 8:08 PM

Carol Ann: They initially thought two weeks. Now it is more like two months

Mar 22, 8:09 PM

Guest1222 (Guest): Hi, have been trying to sign in and could not get in. Lisa

Mar 22, 8:09 PM

VisitationSiste: up to 9 says our govenor!

Mar 22, 8:09 PM

VisitationSiste: Hi Lisa!

Mar 22, 8:09 PM

Guest1222 (Guest): Hi Mother and everyone

Mar 22, 8:10 PM

Carol Ann: I am loving more time to pray and study. My job still goes on through remote work. Am gearing up to help foobank and the local American legion deliver food when the time comes

Mar 22, 8:10 PM

Carol Ann: Lisa! Hi!

Mar 22, 8:10 PM

BRIANBUNNY5: Could easily be Year and a half ! This virus could mutate like Spanish Flu which had 3 rounds then ended abrubtly !!!

Mar 22, 8:13 PM

BRIANBUNNY5: Our Prayers and Faith in God are soo critical !!!!!

Mar 22, 8:13 PM

Guest1222 (Guest): Yes

Mar 22, 8:13 PM

VisitationSiste: definitely

Mar 22, 8:13 PM

Guest1222 (Guest): As always

Mar 22, 8:14 PM

Dawn (Guest): small things. I am not able to go out in community even for nesessary but here in my community there are small things

Mar 22, 8:14 PM

Carol Ann: God bless you Sister!

Mar 22, 8:14 PM

Dawn (Guest): Thank you Sr, and all the sisters. prayers!

Mar 22, 8:15 PM

Ruth (Guest): I was actually looking forward to having more time at home! Figured I might have a chance to get caught up on some of the tasks that I’ve been able to attend to only piecemeal. Wish we could each/all have the Eucharist at home, too, but this isn’t the first time . . .

Mar 22, 8:15 PM

BRIANBUNNY5: We are a Quick Fix Culture !!! This is a major Trial for all , we must Shine for Jesus in all this Darkness and Help Others , Gently Guiding them to Christ !!!

Mar 22, 8:15 PM

Ruth (Guest): Sister, do you still have nurse’s aides coming in?

Mar 22, 8:16 PM

Dawn (Guest): yes!

Mar 22, 8:16 PM

Carol Ann: We are going back to the beginning and the Spirit will bring us up again

Mar 22, 8:16 PM

Dawn (Guest): souls being purified

Mar 22, 8:17 PM

BRIANBUNNY5: Amen !!! We have Brothers and Sisters in Heaven who have been through this cheering us on !!!!!

Mar 22, 8:18 PM

Dawn (Guest): prayer request for Dr A, traveling ER doc headed to los angeles then back here. for what I realized he wanted to speak about…LATER, and his protection. thank you

Mar 22, 8:18 PM

Ruth (Guest): I think it should be called physical distancing. My phone has provided more social contact than I normally have. Email, too. And NYS laws have changed to allow “telepsychiatry” from the physician’s home, but a special additional license is required.

Mar 22, 8:19 PM

Dawn (Guest): Ruth, would you be able to get this lic??

Mar 22, 8:20 PM

Ruth (Guest): I’m looking into it.

Mar 22, 8:20 PM

Carol Ann: I heard about that. We are using telesales and all the companies are giving special trainings

Mar 22, 8:22 PM

Ruth (Guest): It used to be that the doctor had to go to a particular center, and do telepsychiatry from there. One time I was at an interview, with the company that was providing the equipment. Everybody together for a demo. They couldn’t get the equipment to work! But technology has improved . . . It’s just that I am rather technologically challenged. And there is no DSL or high speed internet at this location, in a little mountain valley. Even cell phones don’t work. But the experts may find ways around that.

Mar 22, 8:23 PM

Dawn (Guest): for Spiritual direction? and Hi Lisa!

Mar 22, 8:23 PM

Guest1222 (Guest): Hi

Mar 22, 8:24 PM

Ruth (Guest): Hi.

Mar 22, 8:24 PM

BRIANBUNNY5: Hi Lisa ! God Bless You !

Mar 22, 8:24 PM

Guest1222 (Guest): You too

Mar 22, 8:25 PM

Ruth (Guest): Lisa, are you Guest 1222. I had difficulty signing in, too.

Mar 22, 8:25 PM

Guest1222 (Guest): Yes

Mar 22, 8:27 PM

Guest1222 (Guest): God protect you all, good night

Mar 22, 8:28 PM

Carol Ann: Good night Lisa, God bless you!

Mar 22, 8:28 PM

Dawn (Guest): Good night Lisa.God bless you

Mar 22, 8:29 PM

Ruth (Guest): Some friends vacationing in southern Italy when the virus was raging in the north got stuck there; did manage to get home to the US, but what a saga! And they got fined 4,000 Euros for mistakenly thinking they could get on a plane they had tickets for and going out onto the tarmack without permission . . .

Mar 22, 8:29 PM

BRIANBUNNY5: Thank You Lisa !!! God Bless You All and Your Families !!! Keep Shining for Jesus β€οΈπŸ™β€οΈπŸ™β€οΈ

Mar 22, 8:29 PM

Carol Ann: Good night Brian

Mar 22, 8:29 PM

Ruth (Guest): The “new normal” will have improtant lessons for all of us.

Mar 22, 8:30 PM

Carol Ann: What a story Ruth…are they in quarantine here?

Mar 22, 8:30 PM

Ruth (Guest): Good night all. God bless you.

Mar 22, 8:31 PM

Dawn (Guest): Thank you Brian. God bless you! I think dr A wanted to talk about God ….prayers for him plz gong on the front lines

Mar 22, 8:31 PM

Ruth (Guest): Yes, Carol Ann, but in their own home. Temperature was checked. So far no fever. She has pre-existing health issues.

Mar 22, 8:32 PM

Carol Ann: I will pray extra hard for her

Mar 22, 8:32 PM

Ruth (Guest): Will be praying for all of you and for Kairos and Dr. A.

Mar 22, 8:34 PM

Ruth (Guest): I have a friend being treated for cancer just now, too. The treatment makes her more susceptible to infection. MJK. She helped run the food pantry for the next town over.

Mar 22, 8:35 PM

Ruth (Guest): ER Kane, sorry I did not recognize you were here. Welcome! We normally end at 8:30 — but a sometimes we get a little “carried away.”

Mar 22, 8:40 PM

Ruth (Guest): Just us again. Dawn, did you get a response from Sr. Susan to your e-mail? They have so many elderly sisters, it must be quite a strain on the able-bodied ones. Or if they continue to use outside help for health care, that increases the risk to the whole monastery. So many tough calls!

Mar 22, 8:43 PM

Dawn (Guest): Yes, I did. they are in the epicenter.

Mar 22, 8:45 PM

Ruth (Guest): I’m going to sign off now. If you tried to phone me the other night probably my phone was busy. And tonight I plan to be on the phone with Miriam, though I am very tired already. What I was planning to tell you, I will put in writing. It’s going to be called TWENTY NINE. It is nearly a year since that experience, and I promised Sister I would write it up.

Mar 22, 8:45 PM

Dawn (Guest): If you can lok back on tonights chat there are some interesting insights and points made tonight

Mar 22, 8:46 PM

Dawn (Guest): ok, thank you. hope to talk soon and prayers for your rest tonight.

Mar 22, 8:47 PM

Ruth (Guest): I am always behind schedule. Actually I was here about 10-15 minutes before I typed anything, so I did get to read most (I think) of what was said, at least from Q1.

Mar 22, 8:47 PM

Dawn (Guest): oh good. ok, goodnight~~ God Bless

Mar 22, 8:49 PM

Ruth (Guest): Blessing on you and yours, too, Dawn. You are a joy to know. Your simple obedience and prayerfulness is beautiful! A good example!
