Dear Honor Guards,

On these holy days, the Passion of Jesus resonates especially with us, Guardians of Honor. It is indeed at the foot of the Cross that we stand during our Hour of Presence, in the continuity of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary, St John and St Mary Magdalene, thus forming a barrier between the hatred which was at his paroxysm and the immeasurable love of Jesus crucified. It is important to remember the primary meaning of our commitment: to stand in the way of anything that offends Jesus with our discreet presence. Meditating on the Passion, understanding the Cross in order to live better the Resurrection and the divine Mercy of our Lord, such is the proposal of our foundress for the honor guards of her time that I am delivering to you here for this month.

Very Holy Week to all of you and a wonderful feast of LIFE!

Well in communion with each one

Love of the Cross

While reading this title, some will feel a certain reluctance. We all fear it instinctively and prefer to run away from it and even remove it from our thoughts. It is because in fact we do not know it, we have never embraced it with love to our hearts and, out of ignorance, we do not meditate on the fruits enough.

The Saints loved her so much that most of them imitated her in order to get drunk on the gifts that flow from her. They had a deep reverence for this Tree of Life on which we were redeemed and they sought to glimpse the royal beauties. They esteemed it because they had studied it in the luminous clarities of faith, while we, when we do not prefer to elude it completely, very often, we only devote a fraction of our time to meditating on the painful Passion of our Lord. Yet no one is saved even outside the Cross. Without his voluntary immolation and without his death on the cross, no one would have access to Salvation!

The Cross goes from eternity to eternity! From the beginning of the world, the divine Lamb was already sacrificed in the mind of God and after the consumption of centuries, Saint John still sees the Lamb in glory. This venerable cross served as an altar for the Word of God redeeming the world, it will still serve as a trophy when He comes to judge the living and the dead. In this Easter month, when we are celebrating the Resurrection, let us not forget to meditate on the merits of the Holy Cross: when Jesus received his heavy Cross, he kissed it with love and with it, all those, large and small, intended for all his elected officials. Let us receive our crosses that Providence gives us with the same respect as if we had personally received a relic from a piece of the True Cross! (Sr Marie of the Sacred Heart Bernaud)
