2022 marks the 450th anniversary of birth of St Jane de Chantal and the 400th anniversary of the death of St Francis de Sales.
To highlight these dates a variety of Salesian events are being planned.
Fr Jim Greenfield OSFS, President of DeSales University will deliver the First John Graden Lecture to mark the first anniversary of Fr. John’s death and his incredible contributions to Salesian scholarship. This event will be co-hosted by NASN and Embraced By God Ministries. The lecture will be offered virtually. Salesian Film and Photo Festival and Competition– The Desales Secular Institute will be sponsoring an original short film and photo competition on the Anniversary themes. We will be proving greater details later this Fall. Details to follow.
Artist and author, Bro. Mickey McGrath OSFS will collaborate with Sr. Joan Chitister’s Monastery of the Heart with a new e-course entitled Beauty and the Monastic Heart. Throughout the course, Bro. Mickey will offer video teachings on artists and mystics including Thomas Merton, Georgia O’Keefe, Vincent Van Gogh, Corita Kent, and Henri Matisse. The course runs September 13 to October 3.
