Dear Honor Guards,

This month we celebrate the Presentation. This feast is also called the “Feast of Light”, thus referring to the fact that Jesus is the only Light of the nations! To get out of the ambient gloom, here is an invigorating advice that will stimulate our hope and our confidence.

Moreover, since January 24, a jubilee year has opened on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the death of St. Francis de Sales, founder of the Order of the Visitation and Patron Saint of the Honor Guard. We are all invited to discover the figure of this great saint.

May the Lord fill you with his blessings and “his light”!

Well in communion,

Geneviève Vignes, Coordinator for Headquarters.

Trust

What are you afraid of, soul of little faith! if Jesus tests us, reverses our hopes, tempts us, let us never doubt his Providence, his love, his Heart! He knows better than anyone when he must command the winds of trial, the storms of temptation to cease and restore calm. Do not believe that all is lost when danger is omnipresent. Let us have faith, and after having cried out to Him, let us no longer doubt His divine help. To doubt love is to doubt the omnipotence of his Sacred Heart.

Whatever illness our soul may be stricken with, let us not despair. Let us present to Him all our sufferings, even the most secret ones, the anxieties of our spirit, the lacerations of our heart and even the infirmities of our body. Let’s tell him with simplicity and confidence, how much we are struggling. The Heart of Jesus does not remain insensitive to our nature, which He has clothed Himself with. He cannot resist those who surrender to Him. It was at the height of pain, after feeling abandoned, repulsed by his Father in Gethsemane, that Jesus made his supreme act of abandonment.

If our sky seems iron to us, if desolation overwhelms us, and even if we think that Jesus has turned away from us, far from giving us up to discouragement, let us throw ourselves into his Heart and like Him, say “Father, I place my soul in your hands, and I firmly believe that you will save us! » (from Sr Marie of the Sacred Heart Bernaud)
