NEW BISHOP OF ANNECY: Pope Francis appointed On Monday, June 27, 2022, Bishop Yves Le Saux bishop of Annecy, following the resignation of Bishop Yves Boivineau for reasons of age. Bishop Yves Le Saux was until now Bishop of Le Mans.

Bishop Yves Le Saux was born in Hennebont (Morbihan)

on December 24, 1960. He was ordained a priest for the diocese of Autun on June 22, 1986. He was appointed Bishop of Le Mans in November 2008 and ordained on 25 January 2009.

His episcopal motto is: “Jesus, meek and humble of heart.”

The installation of Bishop Yves Le Saux will take place on Sunday, August 21, in Annecy. The place and time will be communicated at a later date.

As of this week, Bishop Yves Le Saux will come to the diocese of Annecy for a first contact.

Biography of Bishop Yves Le Saux

Bishop Yves Le Saux was until now Bishop of Le Mans.

He was ordained a priest on June 22, 1986 for the diocese of Autun.

Chaplain of the sanctuaries of Paray-Le-Monial and chaplain of the International School of Formation in Evangelization (EIFE) of Paray-Le-Monial from 1986 to 1992, he became assistant to the superior of the chaplains and rector of Paray-Le-Monial in 1992.

Two years later, Father Le Saux was appointed superior of the chaplains. At the same time, he was episcopal delegate for the pastoral care of the family in the diocese of Autun.

In 1997, he became responsible for the Saint Joseph preparatory year in Namur (Belgium) for the Emmanuel Community.

After these five years in Belgium, Father Le Saux was appointed international leader of the priests, deacons and seminarians of the Emmanuel Community. He carried out this mission for six years, until 2008, when he was appointed Bishop of Le Mans.

He is a member of the Episcopal Commission for Consecrated Life at the Conference of Bishops of France (CEF), and President of the Editorial Board of RCF.
