Lucila, the novice who sings and recorded a CD

She played hockey and started studying theater because she wanted to be an actress, but she heard God’s call and became a novice. She recently recorded a CD and this Saturday afternoon she will present it in the Plaza de Alejandro Roca.

It is the story of Lucila, a contemplative sister from the Visitation Monastery of Banda Norte, who dreamed of being a famous actress and after hearing God’s call, she completely changed her life to serve the Lord. She has now recorded a CD and conveys a message of hope and love through her songs.

Together with the sisters who make up the Visitation Monastery, they want to sell the CD to raise funds and be able to build their own temple, since the house where it currently works is for sale.

“I was always half an artist since I was little, I started playing the guitar when I was five years old and at home they are all artists, although they do not dedicate themselves to that by profession. I also studied theater… a Bachelor of Acting, because I wanted to be an actress. But the man has his plans and here I am acting in a different way, ”said Lucila in a relaxed dialogue with Primero Noticias.

The sister said that when one likes music, “it is always a dream to make known the music that Christ makes in one,” and added: “I have been writing for a few years.”

Lucila stated that “when one enters here, he thinks that he stops doing the things that one liked, but on the contrary, he does them in a more complete way.”

The sister said that thanks to the sisters and the support of her family she was able to record her first CD, and with great joy she said that finally, “God willing, I will present it this Saturday 7th in Plaza 25 de Mayo in the town of Alejandro Roca.” .

Lucila has written about 30 written songs, of which 12 will be in her first musical work. The letters go through “everything that the Lord has been giving me, before he called me and after, the letters are works of the Holy Spirit,” said the sister.

“God’s Plans”
“I also played hockey, I was a goalkeeper and I was involved in something else because as one becomes independent one loses faith or taste for the things of God, one even believes one is independent of God,” said Lucila.

At that moment in her life, God’s call came. “It was difficult to answer him because I always looked for communities of active life, I did not think that I was for a contemplative sister, but God has his plans and I have been here for two years with a full life.”

“We visit hearts”
In dialogue with Primero Noticias, Sister Superior Inés de Jesús spoke of the role they have as members of the religious community. “We go with our prayer, with our sacrifice to be with those who need us most. I think above all we visit hearts,” said the sister.

Regarding the image that people have of them, the sister maintained that there is an idea that “we are isolated, but we are in the midst of what surrounds us and at the same time we lead a different lifestyle because we consecrate ourselves to God and to the liturgy. We have a simple, simple life, but at the same time we are close to people, ”she remarked.

“WE ARE NOT AS ISOLATED AS IT SOMETIMES SEEMS”.

Lastly, Inés de Jesús referred to the talent of her companion in faith, Sister Lucila. “Each one gives what God has given her. Being religious does not mean that one loses his own identity, but on the contrary, it is planned. And she (through Lucila) has a gift. The Holy Spirit has inspired her in her songs, in her lyrics. In the Eucharist, he encourages us and accompanies us with music”, the Sister Superior concluded.
