This conference is part of the 4th Centenary of the death of Saint Francis de Sales. 1622-2022.

400 years after his death, these “Entretiens de Saint Germain” will take place in Talloires between the Abbey that once preoccupied François de Sales and the Hermitage that he envisaged as a privileged place for a studious and contemplative retreat. We will emphasize a Salesian and Talloirian anchorage that press a dialogue between Brother Germain and Brother Francis.

The “Entretiens de Saint Germain” will evoke 400 years of Salesian development and revival: this colloquium proposes to revive the memory of the saint and the posterity of his thought.

Several speakers will take us a step from 1622 to today while tracing a face of François de Sales “Fresquiste & Writer”.

The universe of François de Sales that we are going to talk about is very beautiful and his letters are very ardent.

We will approach François de Sales grand Fresquiste with in his hand his pen which has the appearance of a brush. Brush very skilled in painting the Church and also the world, like diapre gardens of infinite flowers… that mix colors! « So it takes different sizes, different colors, different smells, and, in short, different perfections. »

We will favor three formats of words for the progress of the debates: conferences and a round table, an audiovisual support! (Film: “1622, by dint of loving, François de Sales”)

Fresquist: François de Sales proves to be skilled in the use of color. He also has a colorful paste on his palette, mixing various colors adjusted or quarreling constantly to put color to life. Whether it is to embellish, tell a story, draw images and portraits and highlight a gospel heritage.

Writer: Skilled in the art of writing and simply “a man of letters, the Bishop of Geneva wields the pen through books and letters, to invent a form of journalism that speaks to time and publishes good news!
