What does it mean to be of one heart and one mind with someone? Is this similar to when we talk about the “one heart” of Jesus and Mary (from St. John Eudes), or does it mean something even deeper for them? Why is it important for Christians to be of one heart and one mind? Can’t we just believe in Jesus and have our own opinions about baptism and salvation and Church authority? St. Francis tells St. Jane to stay close to her angel. How can we do this? What role does our angel play in our lives? St. Francis wrote: “it will be enough for you that you did your best in complete good faith, since Our Lord and reason do not demand results in the things we do, but only our faithful and whole-hearted co-operation, endeavor and diligence; for these do depend on us, whereas success does not.” Discuss this in conjunction with a popular quote by Mother Teresa: “God doesn’t ask that we succeed in everything, but that we are faithful.” Why is a good intention so important? Isn’t it enough that we achieve the result we’re after, regardless of the means to make it happen?

Carol (Guest): It is the Spirit that creates the union

Sep 11, 7:39 PM

Simone (Guest): so true

Sep 11, 7:39 PM

Simone (Guest): that links us to the next question beautifully

Sep 11, 7:39 PM

Simone (Guest): Why is it important for Christians to be of one heart and one mind? Can’t we just believe in Jesus and have our own opinions about baptism and salvation and Church authority?

Sep 11, 7:40 PM

Dawn (Guest): Jesus being the High Priest established his church , we must conform to him

Sep 11, 7:41 PM

Dawn (Guest): It seems there are many that are trying to establish their own versions today

Sep 11, 7:41 PM

Simone (Guest): that’s an interesting answer

Sep 11, 7:41 PM

Simone (Guest): You are right … the division is getting horrid

Sep 11, 7:41 PM

Carol (Guest): Well, the differences in opinion divide us. And Jesus did nit give options on the Sacraments

Sep 11, 7:42 PM

Simone (Guest): yes, but I could not see that for my life as a Protestant

Sep 11, 7:43 PM

Dawn (Guest): I feel a strong desire to be obedient to his commands, finding this is where freedom is…

Sep 11, 7:43 PM

Simone (Guest): we had a huge fundraising campaign in our diocese last year. It was called ONE HEART – ONE SOUL.. but it made me sad, that it was only seen in the context of money

Sep 11, 7:43 PM

Carol (Guest): Yes, each says they are truly following the early Church Fathers but are completely bdifferent

Sep 11, 7:43 PM

Simone (Guest): Oh, Dawn.. definetely

Sep 11, 7:44 PM

Simone (Guest): Carol, as protestants we were just taught so differently. Grace upon Grace

Sep 11, 7:44 PM

Carol (Guest): It is all feace

Sep 11, 7:44 PM

Simone (Guest): I guess.. you meant to say Grace

Sep 11, 7:45 PM

Simone (Guest): We need to extend grace …. actually I Have to extend grace to my protestant brothers and sisters. when I see how firm they stand against Mother Church

Sep 11, 7:45 PM

Carol (Guest): Oh my goodness, yes I did

Sep 11, 7:45 PM

Dawn (Guest): The true beauty is going back to the beginning! Imagine, there were no pulpits, the focus was entirely on the Body and Blood of Jesus… :47 PM

Simone (Guest): sorry, it should read ” gathered in my name”, 7:48 PM

Simone (Guest): oh Sister Susan is back…

Sep 11, 7:48 PM

Dawn (Guest): interesting question Simone, one I have wondered. is he more present with two or three or does it mean when we gather we will have Mass

Sep 11, 7:48 PM

Simone (Guest): beautiful question Dawn..

Sep 11, 7:48 PM

Dawn (Guest): Maybe Sr Susan could speak on this

Sep 11, 7:49 PM

Carol (Guest): Yes please Sister!

Sep 11, 7:49 PM

Simone (Guest): see. I was always taught.. that it means . when two or three Christians are together – but now I wonder… if it actually means.. ” gathered in his name” – could be the Eucharist.

Sep 11, 7:49 PM

Simone (Guest): Yes, Sister.. could you read the question we had?

Sep 11, 7:49 PM

VisitationSr (Guest): I think it means in any spiritual context of prayer- a prayer group , Mass or conversation about Him or healing situation

Sep 11, 7:49 PM

Simone (Guest): OK.. thanks Sister.

Sep 11, 7:52 PM

7:53 PM

Simone (Guest): Do you stay close to your angel? Question to everyone

Sep 11, 7:53 PM

VisitationSr (Guest): By being conscious of our angel and praying to the angel asking for help or inspiration

Sep 11, 7:53 PM

Carol (Guest): Our guardian angels do guide us and urge us to the right course

Sep 11, 7:54 PM

Dawn (Guest): I understand this to be acknowledge our Angel, say a prayer, ask for their assistance

Sep 11, 7:54 PM

Carol (Guest): Yes, I talk to mine all the time

Sep 11, 7:54 PM

Mary (Guest): where two or three are gathered in His Name could be any prayer group aside from Mass…any prayers are always offeered first for the honor & glory of God before beginning

Sep 11, 7:54 PM

VisitationSr (Guest): Once I had a real problem that I thought only Fr Groeschel could solve. I sent my angel to his and the next day Fr G. called me! Ostensibly on a different matter but I had the opportunity to ask my question

Carol (Guest): I think they do that all the time.  11, 7:55 PM

Simone (Guest): I must confess, that this is not part of my prayer life really. Though – because of all of you – I dared recently to ask my angel if he could go to the angel of my daughter – when she was out camping in wild weather. I would not have done that without your teaching on this in the past11, 7:56 PM

Simone (Guest): But, I am not like where Carol is on that. It is not part of my daily prayers – yet

Sep 11, 7:56 PM

Carol (Guest): Because part of what they do for God is help us, we should make requests like that

Sep 11, 7:56 PM

Carol (Guest): Ive had reason to practice!

Sep 11, 7:56 PM

Simone (Guest): that’s amazing with Fr. Groeschel’s phone call Sister. It must have been so encouraging for you.

Sep 11, 7:56 PM

Dawn (Guest): I want to deepen my relationship also

Sep 11, 7:57 PM

Simone (Guest): I wish it would be clearer seen in the bible

Sep 11, 7:57 PM

Mary (Guest): Angels are always guarding us, defending us, protecting us. & always by our side…when in grade scholl. our Nuns would remind us in the morning..’move over & make room for your guardian angel

Sep 11, 7:57 PM

Carol (Guest): Mine too Mary.

Sep 11, 7:57 PM

Simone (Guest): that is a good reminder Mary

Sep 11, 7:58 PM

Dawn (Guest): beautiful image

Sep 11, 7:58 PM

Carol (Guest): There is an unseen realm alongside ours where they live. Spiritual battles are fought there

Sep 11, 7:58 PM

Mary (Guest): When at daily Mass & we say the St Michael prayer at the end, I invoke my angel & all the angels of those present in church that morning..that is a good practic

Sep 11, 7:58 PM

Carol (Guest): Our physical life is just a small part of all there is

Sep 11, 7:59 PM

Simone (Guest): to realize that – Carol. actually brought me into the Catholic Church

Sep 11, 7:59 PM

Simone (Guest): the invisible realm

Sep 11, 7:59 PM

Carol (Guest): I did?

Sep 11, 8:00 PM

Simone (Guest): no.. sorry .. you did a lot for me.. but you did not bring me into the Catholic Church  I was addressing you

p 11, 8:00 PM

Dawn (Guest): It is, and sometimes we may see a glimpse …brief

p 11, 8:00 PM

Carol (Guest): I didn’t think so!

Sep 11, 8:01 PM

Mary (Guest): It is like a thin veil over the angels..and when we are called home, that veil will be removed & we will see our protector who protected us so many times

Sep 11, 8:01 PM

Simone (Guest): I can get very excited when I think of the beauty of the invisible realm

Sep 11, 8:01 PM

Carol (Guest): Jesus sometimes allows it

Sep 11, 8:12 PM

Simone (Guest): St. Francis wrote: “it will be enough for you that you did your best in complete good faith, since Our Lord and reason do not demand results in the things we do, but only our faithful and whole-hearted co-operation, endeavor and diligence; for these do depend on us, whereas success does not.” Discuss this in conjunction with a popular quote by Mother Teresa: “God doesn’t ask that we succeed in everything, but that we are faithful.”

Ruth 3 (Guest): I think I need to take notes! Maybe Sr. Will be able to archive this.

Sep 11, 8:13 PM

Simone (Guest): I know you are a beautiful intercessor too Ruth. Maybe we can copy the prayer intentions

Sep 11, 8:08 PM

Dawn (Guest): ok

Sep 11, 8:08 PM

VisitationSr (Guest): yes sounds good!

Sep 11, 8:08 PM

Ruth 3 (Guest): I’m still here. Did not realize that I had to sign in again. Had multiple popups from a very nervous former high school class ate, Carol. She’s been treated for colon cancer; her kids are moving her out of her home into a different facility. Husband is deceased. Plese put her on your prayer line, too. I’ll do the same.

Sep 11, 8:08 PM

Simone (Guest): Ruth..?

Sep 11, 8:08 PM

Simone (Guest): Oh.. here you are

Sep 11, 8:09 PM

Simone (Guest): OK.. I think we all had a chance to write down our prayer intentions.

Sep 11, 8:09 PM

Simone (Guest): Mary is there a way we can pray for you?

Sep 11, 8:10 PM

Simone (Guest): oh.. and one more please.

Sep 11, 8:11 PM

Simone (Guest): A friend.. Kirsten – who is facing divorce from her alcoholic husband – but at the same time discovers the rosary – she is protestant – but open to the Catholic Church – please pray – that God reveals Himself in Mother Church to her.. and Mother Mary too

Sep 11, 8:12 PM

Mary (Guest): Only to do God’s will for which He created me..It is an honor & blessing to pray for all you wonderful guests herein who also want closer relationship with the Lord

, 8:14 PM

Carol (Guest): Results are a more worldly desire. Jesus takes our efforts and grows them into something we can’t imagine

Sep 11, 8:15 PM

Simone (Guest): I actually fell a little bit into the trap recently – of trying to be successful more than to be faithful. Did not work out well. So don’t try to copy

Sep 11, 8:15 PM

Dawn (Guest): thank you Carol!

15 PM

Simone (Guest): Results are to “build our kingdom” faithfulness – detached from results are to build HIS kingdom, 8:17 PM

VisitationSr (Guest): Even with the establishment of the Visitation St Francis feared when St JaNE GOT SICK THAT IT MITE NOT WORK- BUT IT DID. bUT HE WAS READY TO LET IT GO, 8:17 PM

VisitationSr (Guest): Doing his will is all- the results are left to God

Sep 11, 8:17 PM

Dawn (Guest): that is an important lesson , in all matters

18 PM

Simone (Guest): For God our “readiness” is so much more important than the result. After all He is so able to reach every result on His own.

Sep 11, 8:18 PM

Mary (Guest): Interesting quote from St Mother Teresa of Calcutta…another way I believe she said it is ‘the Lord does look for our capability, but our availability..It’s about always saying yes to Him and trust Him with the results

Sep 11, 8:19 PM

Ruth 3 (Guest): The bright, loving little boy I had for religious education — so anxious to be able to follow his dad and receive Holy Communion, and his big brother of he is so proud, is facing a disruption in his family relations. Good, loving, gentle mother and grandparents. LittlwEdward I’ll call him and Carl (to protect their identity), God knows, is now living with o e or the other separated parents. Not sure if they will get back together. Hard on all. Need prayers.

Sep 11, 8:19 PM

Simone (Guest): Here I am Lord.. is it I Lord? I have heard you calling in the night… Anyone else singing these lines as you read them?

Sep 11, 8:20 PM

Dawn (Guest): Children suffer most this separations! will keep in prayer

Sep 11, 8:21 PM

Carol (Guest): Yes, Simone!

Sep 11, 8:22 PM

Simone (Guest): singing again here

Sep 11, 8:23 PM

Mary (Guest): ‘I will go Lord if You lead me,,I will hold Your people in my heart’..it’s all about LOVE

Sep 11, 8:23 PM

Simone (Guest): we have an online chat CHOIR now! I mean.. how are the odds?

Simone (Guest): Let’s make an end spurt here ladies

Sep 11, 8:24 PM

Simone (Guest): last question for today

Sep 11, 8:24 PM

Simone (Guest): Why is a good intention so important? Isn’t it enough that we achieve the result we’re after, regardless of the means to make it happen?

Sep 11, 8:24 PM

Ruth 3 (Guest): Yes, Simon.

Sep 11, 8:25 PM

Mary (Guest): Sorry..the Lord does NOT ask for our capability but our availability

1, 8:25 PM

Ruth 3 (Guest): Thank you, Dawn.

Sep 11, 8:25 PM

Simone (Guest): We all knew what you meant Mary – but thanks for correcting.

Sep 11, 8:26 PM

Simone (Guest): cool Carol – I just looked at it

Sep 11, 8:26 PM

Mary (Guest): What is Zoom website?

 8:26 PM

Simone (Guest): it’s a platform where you can meet online Mary

Sep 11, 8:27 PM

Simone (Guest): lots of people at the same time – from different areas can see each other on the computer

Carol (Guest): Zoom is a platform that allows groups if people to be together online

27 PM

Simone (Guest): OK.. I have a gut feeling. it could be helpful to write the question again

Sep 11, 8:27 PM

Simone (Guest): Why is a good intention so important? Isn’t it enough that we achieve the result we’re after, regardless of the means to make it happen?

Sep 11, 8:28 PM

Ruth 3 (Guest): That Yes, Simon, was tom the question about the song. I am a

Carol (Guest): The people in our Northeast region are really good at this

Sep 11, 8:28 PM

Sep 11, 8:28 PM

Simone (Guest): I miss worship times often. I have invited for tomorrow night a musical and conductor in our diocese – and I want to learn some songs with a small group together

Sep 11, 8:28 PM

Dawn (Guest): it is what is in our heart the Lord sees

29 PM

Simone (Guest): and you are right.. for the LORD the intention is as important as the actual work of our hands

Sep 11, 8:29 PM

VisitationSr (Guest): A very good intention is to want to please God that can apply to almost any situation

Sep 11, 8:29 PM

Simone (Guest): We are just not allowed to judge anyone’s intention. Only the Lord can judge this

8:30 PM

Simone (Guest): There is a special prayer for intention in the Salesian tradition. Right Sister?

Sep 11, 8:30 PM

Dawn (Guest): Sr, the highest answer, closest to truth

Sep 11, 8:30 PM

Simone (Guest): I think I saw it in the directory

Sep 11, 8:30 PM

VisitationSr (Guest): yes
