Here we are in the time of Lent that prepares us inwardly for the great feast of the Resurrection!
If our privations, our fasts are praiseworthy, perhaps it is just as important to reposition ourselves clearly in the face of the immeasurable love of Our Lord. The advice of our founder can inspire us!
This March 13th, we also celebrate the 160th anniversary of the Guard of Honour! Let us give thanks for our Association which, every day, continues to attract countless members around the world! Together, let us continue to spread this work so dear to the Heart of Jesus…. Everyone, wherever he is, can make known the Guard of Honor, it may be a beautiful resolution of Lent because everything contributes to the Glory of the Lord!

Slave of his love
The slave belongs unreservedly to his master who bought him. Thus, Jesus having acquired us at the price of his precious Blood, we belong to him! Therefore, we should no longer live for ourselves but for Him Alone.
What a tiny grace to be nothing but slaves of his love! This means that we should be freed from all bondage, from all attachment to the material things of the earth, from affections and friendships, from all fears and anxieties but above all from ourselves. There is no worse slavery than exaggerated self-love!
Nothing is more delicious and pleasant than the yoke of love of such a master who invites us to sink ourselves in total trust and full abandonment to his good will. To answer it with a prompt and docile heart, it is still necessary to be attentive to his slightest desires. Nothing is more necessary than to rediscover the taste of silence, prayer, detachment from ourselves to listen only to the slightest noise of inner inspiration and thus correspond to his only Will.
Serving this gentle Master, we will no longer be able to love lukewarmly, act weakly, or even suffer cowardly. On the contrary, doing everything out of love for Him, this love will push us to the sublime and our unmeasured confidence will be our strength. (After Sr. Mary of the Sacred Heart Bernaud)
