From a letter of 1689
Every day of this holy season of Lent you pay Him three visits, either before His image or in front of Him, before the Most august Sacrament. The first, to ask Him that this Divine Heart may be one through which the Eternal Father continually pours out His mercies upon hardened hearts of sinners, to draw them to his love and knowledge. The second visit will be to pray to him to establish his reign of charity and love in our Institute. And the third, to offer yourself to Him as a victim of a holocaust, to be consummated on the cross of your abjection by the ardour of his pure love; And you will be able to do all this in spirit.
