The Seven Martyrs of the Visitation

In this short film from HM Television, TRÁILER: La Séptima Corona. Mártires de la Visitación we present the martyred story of the seven martyred sisters of the Order of the Visitation of the First Monastery of Madrid (Spain), which occurred in the religious persecution of 1936.

Each of the martyrs possesses a particular richness that allows us to admire the beauty of the contemplative vocation to which they were called. Each one lived the charism of the Order of the Visitation from her personal experience, but sharing a deep devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, seeking his honor, loving him and making him loved in their lives and through their dedication.

WHY THE SEVEN MARTYRS OF THE VISITATION?

Sometimes you don’t really know why you feel moved to walk in one direction, but you just have to take one step and the pieces start to fall into place. This is what we have experienced with the Martyrs of the Visitation. It was not in our plans to dedicate the 2024 short film to the story on which we have finally filmed. We knew the story out of the corner of our eye, but it had not penetrated us to the point of wanting to direct the effort of the Media Course towards its history. It was while I was reading the book “United until death”, reaching its last pages, when “something” snatched me and put in my heart the confirmation that Heaven really wanted us to do this work. Once we said yes, we have seen God’s providence every step of the way. There are endless details, but, not to go on too long, suffice it to say that these seven martyrs have become part of our lives, of all of us who have participated in the filming. We have entrusted ourselves to them from beginning to end and we have experienced their help and their closeness. They have chosen us to come out of their hiding place and to be able to put “in the limelight” their testimony of dedication to the last consequences.
