The Path
Life has often been compared to a road that must be traveled. The starting point is a cradle, the arrival point, in the eyes of pessimists, is a grave, but in the eyes of Christians, it is Heaven!
The road that leads from time to eternity is very different for everyone. For some, it descends gently through beautiful flowers and a few shaded areas; for others, it climbs into full sunlight, but remains dry and barren. But whatever path Providence leads our steps, all of us, rich or poor, instinctively seek a soul who would share our journey with us and support us with their strength, friendship, and light. Strength: on our paths through life, we encounter difficult times, trials to overcome. Naturally, we turn to someone we trust to draw the strength we need to overcome them.
Friendship: The heart desires and seeks friendship because going alone is sad. When we experience great joys, we like to share them, and when we are faced with excessively painful sorrows, finding comfort in a trusted friend is a source of relief.
Light: Just as a plant needs light to grow, we all need light to illuminate our path. When doubts arise, the enlightened and wise advice of those close to us helps us find serenity. Jesus alone is strength, friendship, and light. Above all, it is He whom we must choose as our traveling companion. He is the source of all good; from Him emanate all the graces essential to our journey on earth. If we can rely on our brothers and sisters, it is because He places them on our path, giving them the strength, friendship, and light we need. And we ourselves receive these same graces from Him to share. Yes, Jesus is the Way of our paths!
