Feast of the Blessed Sacrament

“In response to My eagerness to do them good, men
have only coldness and revulsion… You at least, console Me by making up for
their ingratitude… You will receive Communion every first Friday of the
month and every night from Thursday to Friday. I will make you share in
this deadly sadness that I wanted to bring to the Garden of Olives. » Je
sus to Sister Margaret Mary

“The Church constantly seeks that lost hour in the Garden of Olives, lost by Peter, James, and John, to repair
that desertion, and the solitude of the Master that increased his suffering…
Jesus allows us, in a way, to find Him again
continually in this hour that has passed and is irreversible,
humanly speaking, and, as in the past, He invites us to take part
in the prayer of His Heart that embraces all generations
of men.”

Cardinal Wojtyla, future Saint John Paul II

Action:
I join in one of the approaches that my parish offers today:
procession, adoration, Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, Vespers…

Towards the Feast of the Sacred Heart

Ez. 34, 11-16

Thus says the Lord God:
I myself will tend my sheep and watch over them.
As a shepherd watches over the sheep of his flock when they are scattered,
so I will look after my sheep and rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick clouds.
I will bring them out from among the peoples and gather them from the countries and bring them back to their own land.
I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, in the valleys, in the best places.
I will feed them in good pastures, and their meadows will be on the highlands of Israel.
There my sheep will lie down in good pastures and graze in rich pastures on the mountains of Israel. I will shepherd my flock,
and I will make them lie down,
oracle of the Lord God.
The lost sheep I will seek;
the stray I will bring back.
The injured I will bind up.
The sick I will strengthen.
The fat and vigorous I will keep and shepherd according to justice.

O Jesus, hidden in the Blessed Sacrament of the altar, my love and
my only mercy, I commend to You all the needs of my soul and body. You can help me, for You are
mercy itself. In You I have placed all my trust.” Saint Faustina

Saint Gertrude of Helfta, a Cistercian nun, recounted a moment of prayer during which she placed her head on the Heart of Christ and heard its beating. In a dialogue with Saint John the Evangelist, she asked him why he did not speak in his Gospel of what he felt when he had the same experience. Gertrude concluded that “the sweet eloquence of these beatings is reserved for the present times, so that by listening to them the world, already aged and numb in its love for God, may regain its fervor.” Could we see in this an affirmation for our time, a call to recognize how “old” this world has become and how much it needs to perceive the ever-new message of Christ’s love?
Dilexit nos 110

Action
I am taking a moment of true silence to pray today.
I am canceling an activity (race) which is not necessary.
I’m making the effort to go to bed earlier tonight to rest.

Tuesday, June 24

Ps. 22:1-6
The Lord is my shepherd; I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters and revives me;
he guides me along the paths of justice for his name’s sake.
Though I walk through the valleys of death,
I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
your staff guides me and comforts me.
You prepare a table for me before my enemies;
you pour incense on my head;
my cup overflows.
Goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life;
I will dwell in the house of the Lord
for as long as I live.

The Heart of Christ is the vital space of the blessed. The place where they dwell in love, the place from which they draw eternal and limitless joy. The infinite thirst for love, the mysterious thirst that God has placed in the human heart, is satisfied in the divine Heart of Christ.”
John Paul II

Action
I repeat this psalm
throughout the day.
I observe and listen to the people around me. What is their thirst?
I am interested in their desires, their needs, and I present them to the Lord.

Wed June 25

Rom 5:5b-11
Brothers, the love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. While we were still incapable of anything, Christ, at God’s appointed time, died for us ungodly people. It is hard enough to be willing to die for a righteous person; perhaps someone would risk dying for a good person. Now God’s love for us is demonstrated by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. How much more, now that we have been justified by the blood of Christ, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through him. For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, now that we have been reconciled, we shall be saved through his life. And what is more, we boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation

Lord Jesus, You are our Savior and our God! May our gaze never be fixed on any other star than that of Love and Mercy which shines on your breast. May your Heart be, O our God, the luminous beacon of faith, the anchor of our hope, the help always offered in our weakness, the marvelous dawn of unshakeable peace, the sun that illuminates our horizons.
Amen. Saint John Paul II

Action
Throughout the day, I try to regularly repeat “Keep me in the fidelity of love” to keep my gaze fixed on Jesus in everything I do.

Thur June 26

Luke 15:3-7
At that time, Jesus spoke to the Pharisees and scribes this parable: “If one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them, does he not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one that is lost until he finds it?” When he finds it, he
takes it on his shoulders, rejoicing, and when he returns home, he calls together his friends and neighbors to say to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep, the one who was lost!’ I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance.”

God our Father,
You are not indifferent to us, to what we are experiencing. You carry
each of us in your Heart. You know us by name and
You care for us. You seek us even when we abandon You. Each of us interests You, because Your Love
prevents You from being indifferent to what happens to us. Touch our
hearts! Open our hearts, so that they may be clothed in Your Goodness and Your Mercy, to become, in Your Son Jesus, servants of humanity.
Lord Jesus Christ, heal me of the hardness of my heart.
Make my heart like Yours: strong and merciful, vigilant
and generous, not allowing itself to be closed in on itself and not falling into the trap of the globalization of selfishness and
indifference. Amen. Pope Francis

Action
I make the effort to call someone close to me who needs to be comforted. I take the time to listen to their pain.

Feast of the Sacred Heart

Preface to the Sacred Heart
In his admirable love, when he was lifted up on the cross, he gave himself for us and, from his pierced side, he shed blood and water from which flowed the sacraments of the Church, so that all, drawn to the open Heart of the Savior, may never cease to draw joyfully from the living sources of salvation.

The revelation of this truth [the truth of the Sacred Heart of Jesus] is the revelation of God’s love for us. […] He asks us love for love. He tells us, “I love you, I want to love you eternally and give myself to you eternally, I want to be loved and possessed by you throughout eternity. Love me, obey me, follow me.” God loves us… God asks us to love Him… This is the truth of the Heart of Jesus revealed to enlighten and set the hearts of men ablaze.

Saint Charles de Foucauld

Sacred Heart of Jesus, source of all good, I adore you, I believe in you, I hope in you, I love you, and I offer you my heart.

Action

I pray the prayer of consecration “solemnly.” I choose a special moment, I kneel before an image of the Sacred Heart or before the Blessed Sacrament, if possible I pray with a song, I invite my family to join me in my process. I celebrate this consecration (dress, meal, etc.)

Prayer of Consecration to the Heart of Jesus
Lord Jesus, You who came to light a fire on earth, I abandon myself today to the will of the Father in the breath of the Holy Spirit. Purify my heart, set it ablaze with love and charity. Increase in me the desire for holiness.
Through the Immaculate Heart of M
ary, I… consecrate myself entirely to your Heart to love and serve you. Amen!
