Understanding the heart of Jesus
A bishop on the east coast has plunged into the daunting task of providing an understanding of the Heart of Jesus, the symbol of God’s ever-faithful love.
Most Rev. Paul S. Loverde, bishop of Arlington, VA, has written the pastoral letter, Fountain of Life, Fire of Love.
In the letter, he recounts the devotion to the Sacred Heart, quotes Ven. John Henry Newman, Pope Benedict XVI, and offers his own reflections and suggestions.
Bishop Loverde wrote the letter in prepration to his consecration of the Diocese of Arlington to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the Feast of Christ the King on Nov. 20.
