“Advent” comes from the Latin word adventus, meaning coming or arrival. The season of Advent is a time of preparation for Christ’s Second coming, even as we remember and celebrate His First coming at Christmas.
This Sunday, Dec. 2, at 8 PM Eastern Time, we will prepare ourselves to make a good Advent with a discussion about Advent on our “Living Jesus Chat Room.” Last week we reached our maximum number of seats, so come on time to ensure you can participate. Sr. Mary Roberta will be our moderator.
Sunday Chat Discussion Questions:
- What does Advent mean to you?
- How do you prepare for Advent?
- Share about a time you felt like a person “living in darkness” (Mt. 4:16)?
- In what ways has Jesus brought “light” and hope into your life?
- What images or memories come to mind when you hear the word “hope”?
- What personal traits and qualities does a person of great hope possess? List some people of great hope and some people who give hope.
(Thanks to Adam Kohlstrom for these questions, from his blog Adam’s Anecdotes.)
